Billing photo sessions should be simple and stress-free. The Stripe payment processor allows your clients to pay for services in multiple currencies, such as euro (EUR) for the European Union or British pound sterling (GBP) for businesses in the United Kingdom. As a photographer, you can easily connect your Revolut account to Stripe to quickly and securely receive your earned funds directly on your phone.
Key benefits and use cases
Receiving transfers in multiple currencies: Revolut itself supports around 30 different currencies, making it much easier to settle payments with international clients.
Flexible account management: You can add accounts in different currencies to Stripe, as each sub-account in Revolut has its own unique IBAN.
How to connect your Revolut account in the Stripe dashboard
The process of adding a bank account in Stripe consists of a few simple steps. If you use more than one currency, you will need a separate settlement account for each of them.
Log in to your main dashboard (Dashboard) on the Stripe platform.
Click the gear icon Settings in the top-right corner of the page.
In the account section ("Account Settings"), click Business, then select the Bank accounts and currencies tab.
In the "Settlement currencies and bank accounts" section, find the currency you use for payouts and click the Add a bank account button.
💡Tip: For security reasons, Stripe may ask you to re-verify your identity at this point, for example by entering your password or clicking a link sent to your email address.
After successful verification, an account details entry form will appear.
In the "Country of bank account" field, select Lithuania ("Lithuania") if your account number starts with the letters "LT". Select Poland ("Poland") if Revolut has assigned you a Polish number starting with "PL". If your account number starts with your country code please select appropriate country from the list.
Enter the remaining details of your account. Make sure the name (or company name) of the Revolut account holder is identical to the one provided in Stripe.
Click the Add bank account button to save the changes.
⚠️Important: If you have and enter a Lithuanian IBAN ("LT") for payouts in Polish zloty, Stripe will charge a 1% fee for each payout, and the minimum single payout amount will be 1000 PLN.
💡Tip: To check your IBAN and its prefix (e.g. "PL" or "LT"), open the Revolut app, select a specific currency (e.g. PLN) and click account details. The bank account currency must match the currency selected in your Stripe payout settings.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Can I connect my Revolut account to any currency in Stripe?
Yes, you can connect your Revolut account to absolutely any currency you use for billing clients in Mafelo and Stripe. This only requires providing the appropriate IBAN for the selected currency.
How can I avoid fees when withdrawing funds from Stripe to Revolut?
To avoid the 1% fee and the minimum withdrawal limit (1000 PLN) for transfers in Polish zloty, you need to provide a Polish IBAN (starting with the letters "PL") in Stripe. Many Revolut accounts offer the option to generate such a local number.
