Email subject ideas

Subject lines Bookboost customers use, grouped by the kind of message they belong to.

The subject line decides whether the rest of your email gets read. These are subject lines Bookboost customers use, grouped by the kind of message they belong to.

The subject line accepts tokens

The Subject field sits above the editor canvas and takes tokens exactly as the body does, so the guest's name or your property's name can go straight into it. The examples below are written with real tokens, so you can copy a line and paste it in as it stands.

Two tokens do most of the work here:

  • {{primary_guest.first_name}} for the guest's first name.

  • {{property.name}} for the property's name.

To find any other token, click Token in the bar under the canvas. That opens the Personalization Tokens panel, grouped into categories such as Primary Guest, Reservation, Property and Rate Plan. Each token shows a plain-language name and a description, with a Copy button that puts the token on your clipboard, ready to paste into the subject field. See Property tokens and Reservation tokens for what each category carries.

Always preview before you send. A token is short on screen and long in the inbox, so a subject line that looks neat in the field can be cut off once a real name is in it. See Test your campaigns.

Booking information

  • "{{primary_guest.first_name}}, your reservation at {{property.name}}"

  • "Preparing for your arrival: reservation details"

  • "Reservation reminder: everything you need to know"

  • "Your reservation: final checklist before arrival"

  • "Your stay awaits: reservation confirmation and details"

  • "Your key for {{property.name}}"

Online check-in and OTA profiling

  • "Your upcoming reservation: update your details before your arrival"

  • "Check in online at {{property.name}}"

  • "Finalise your stay at {{property.name}}"

  • "Confirm your booking details for {{property.name}}"

  • "Reminder: the registration form is waiting"

  • "Important: verify personal details for your stay at {{property.name}}"

Upselling

For early check-in, parking, late check-out, and breakfast.

  • "You might be missing some information for your upcoming reservation"

  • "Exclusive offer: complimentary upgrade on your next reservation"

  • "Say yes to an easier check-in at {{property.name}}"

  • "Extend your stay, on us: exclusive night free offer"

Review requests

  • "We miss you already, {{primary_guest.first_name}}. Share your stay?"

  • "Did we make your stay special, {{primary_guest.first_name}}? Tell us how"

  • "Thank you for choosing us, {{primary_guest.first_name}}. How did we do?"

  • "A drink on us for your next stay: share your feedback". Replace the offer with whatever you are giving.

Offering something tangible in return for a review tends to lift both open rates and response rates.

Newsletters

  • "New at {{property.name}}: an exclusive look inside"

  • "An offer just for you for your next stay"

What tends to work

  • Use the guest's name or the property name. A subject line that names something specific to the reader reads less like a mailout, and both are a token away.

  • Say what is inside. "Your key for {{property.name}}" tells the reader exactly what they will get by opening it.

  • Keep it short enough for a phone. Most guests read on mobile, where long subject lines are cut off mid-sentence. Put the token near the start, so it survives the truncation.

  • Test before you commit. See Test your campaigns.
