Written by Emilia Sowa

Want to know how many people visit your booking page or click the button for a selected session? The Meta Pixel (formerly Facebook Pixel) integration is a simple tool that will help you better understand your clients' behavior and create more effective ads. Don't worry — setup takes just a few minutes!

Key benefits and use cases

  • Traffic tracking – find out how many clients visit your offer and what they click on most

  • Abandoned booking analysis – discover how many clients started the booking process but didn't complete it for some reason

  • Effective remarketing – gain the ability to target relevant ads to people who have already shown interest in your photography services

How to connect Meta Pixel with Mafelo

Step 1: Create a Pixel in Meta

If you haven't created a Pixel yet, first set it up in your Facebook account.

  1. Go to Events Manager.

  2. Click Connect data sources (the plus icon on the left side of the screen) and select the Website option.

  3. Select Meta Pixel (Facebook Pixel) and click Connect.

  4. Enter a recognizable name for the pixel (e.g., "Mafelo Bookings") and click Continue.

Step 2: Configure the Pixel in Mafelo

Now you need to connect the Pixel you just created to your Mafelo booking page.

  1. In Events Manager (on the Facebook side) select your newly created Pixel from the list on the left.

  2. Go to the Settings tab and copy the string of numbers labeled Pixel ID.

  3. Log in to Mafelo and go to the Settings tab.

  4. In the Bookings section, click Facebook Pixel.

  5. Click the Edit button, paste the Facebook Pixel ID you copied earlier, and then click Save.

Note: After saving the settings correctly, visit your Mafelo booking page yourself as a client and click through some packages. The Meta system typically needs 5 to 15 minutes to process and display the first events.

Step 3: Domain verification and advanced event tracking

To track more advanced events (e.g., entering a specific service or clicking booking buttons), the Meta system requires additional domain verification in Meta Business Suite.

  1. Start the domain verification process in Meta.

  2. As the website address, provide your Mafelo booking link without the "https://" prefix (e.g., enter just studio.mafelo.net).

  3. Meta will generate a verification code (meta-tag) for you. Copy only the content of the "content" field from it (this is usually a long string of characters, e.g., l2uaaavvvvuuu555555sdjfklsj).

  4. Return to Mafelo (Settings > Facebook Pixel), paste the copied string into the Domain verification code field, and click Save.

Important: When adding a domain for verification in the Meta panel, absolutely avoid entering the "https://" prefix. Adding it will cause errors on the booking page or the verification will fail.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Why don't I see any events in Events Manager even though the Pixel has been connected?

You don't see events in Events Manager immediately after connecting because the Meta system needs 5 to 15 minutes to refresh the data. The best solution is to visit your Mafelo booking page as a regular user, click through a few services, and wait a few minutes before checking the graph on Facebook again.

What website address should I provide during domain verification in Meta?

During domain verification in Meta, you need to provide the address of your Mafelo booking page without any prefixes. The address should look exactly like this: twojanazwa.mafelo.net. Skip adding "https://" or "www" to avoid verification errors.
