How to export photos to Capture One?

Learn how to quickly and efficiently transfer to Capture One (C1) the list of photos selected by your client in Mafelo.

Written by Emilia Sowa

To make your retouching work easier, Mafelo allows you to instantly export the list of photos your client ordered in their gallery. You don't need to manually copy file numbers. Just a few clicks are enough to locate the selected shots in your software.

Key benefits and use cases

  • Time savings: Automatic searching of multiple files at once eliminates errors from manually typing file names.

  • Retouch selection: Instantly filter in Capture One only the shots the client paid for and that are awaiting final processing.

How to export selected photos to Capture One

To export to Capture One the photos your client selected in Mafelo, follow the steps below.

Important: File export works at the level of a single gallery (perform these steps in the view of a specific gallery) or a single order (open the selected order). For the search in Capture One to work correctly:

  • Files uploaded to the gallery in Mafelo must have exactly the same names as your original files (e.g. RAW) on your computer's disk. The file extensions themselves (e.g. .jpg, .cr2, .arw) do not matter.

  • Make sure your file names do not contain spaces or special characters (e.g. &, ").

Tip: If files that contain spaces in their names have already been uploaded to the gallery, Capture One's search may only find them partially. In that case, try a different solution – use Export to Mafelo Desktop, which handles such file names without any issues.

  1. Go to the "Client orders" tab in the relevant gallery in Mafelo.

  2. Click the Export photos button located below the order list.

  3. From the drop-down menu, select the to Capture One option.

  4. A new tab will open in your browser containing a ready list of file names. Copy the entire displayed content.

  5. Open Capture One and navigate to the folder containing the files from the selected gallery.

  6. Paste the previously copied file list directly into the search field (magnifying glass) in Capture One:
