Death of a partner

If your partner has passed away, please inform LIV Residential so we can update our administration.

This prevents you from receiving communication addressed to your partner.

If your partner was the main tenant and you are a registered co-tenant, you will automatically become the contractual tenant.

If you are not listed in the rental agreement, you will need to apply for a new rental contract.

Ending the rental agreement

After the death of a single tenant, relatives can terminate the rental agreement.

To process this request, a copy of the death certificate is required.

Important to know

If the rental agreement is not terminated, it will legally end at the end of the second full calendar month after the death.

Heirs take over all rights and obligations during this period.

If there are no heirs, or if the inheritance is rejected, the agreement will also end automatically after this period.

In that case, the contents of the property may be temporarily stored so the property can be made available again.
