Insurance as a tenant

What insurance do I need to take out as a tenant?

Updated this week

As a tenant, you are required to take out third-party liability (WA) and contents insurance. This obligation is stated in the General Terms and Conditions, which you signed in the rental agreement.

Third-party liability and contents insurance cover damage to your personal belongings caused by fire, storm, leaks, or damage by third parties. All rental agreements where LIV Residential is the property manager require you to take out these insurances.

As a tenant, you are free to choose your own insurer.

You are not responsible for damage to the building (the exterior of the property); LIV Residential or the Owners' Association is responsible for this and has taken out buildings insurance for this.

We also recommend that you take out other insurance policies in addition to the aforementioned ones, such as burglary insurance. However, as a tenant, you are free to make your own choices regarding these.

Do you have further questions about which insurance you should take out or why it is mandatory? Please contact LIV Residential.
