Smoke detectors and responsibilities
Smoke detectors are an important part of fire safety.
Smoke detectors inside your apartment that run on batteries are your responsibility. This includes replacing the batteries when needed.
Smoke detectors in common areas (if applicable) are maintained by LIV Residential.
Insurance
As a tenant, you are responsible for taking out your own home contents insurance. This covers your personal belongings in case of fire or other damage.
LIV Residential has buildings insurance, which covers the structure of the property. This insurance does not cover your personal belongings.
