What to do

Contact the police

  • Emergency: call 112 if the intruder is still present

  • Non-emergency: call 0900-8844 to report the burglary

  • Do not touch anything and leave all traces as they are for investigation

Contact your insurance company
Inform your contents insurance as soon as possible.

Ask which documents are required, such as a police report, to process your claim.

Preserve evidence
Take photos of the damage or signs of forced entry if possible, without disturbing anything.
