What is Huggg Payouts and how does it work?

An introduction to Huggg Payouts - how the platform works, what voucher types are available, and how recipients claim their vouchers.

Huggg Payouts is a welfare voucher platform that lets councils, charities, schools and other organisations send financial support directly to the people who need it.

Every voucher is delivered as a unique digital link - recipients open it on a smartphone or computer, choose a store or service if applicable, and claim their support instantly. There are no accounts for recipients to create and no app to download.

Please note: Recipients will need access to a smartphone or computer to open and claim their voucher link.

If your recipients are unlikely to have access to one, see: What if I don't have a smartphone or internet access? in the Redeeming Vouchers section of this help centre.

What types of voucher can I send?

Huggg Payouts offers two types of support: Delivered Goods (physical items sent directly to your recipient) and Vouchers (digital links your recipient claims and spends themselves).

Delivered Goods

  • White Goods - large appliances such as washing machines, fridges and cookers, delivered directly to the recipient

  • Furniture and Home Goods - furniture, home bundles and small electricals

  • Keeping Warm - thermal clothing, insulation and warmth packs

Vouchers

  • Food - supermarkets, takeaways and coffee shops

  • Home - home essentials and household items

  • Energy and Water - gas, electricity and water, via PayPoint, Post Office, prepaid card or OneLink

  • Cash - cash collected at PayPoint, Post Office or ATM

  • Children's Activities and Support - school uniform, stationery, holiday activities and more

  • Other Voucher Collections - clothing, footwear, transport and more

How does it work?

  1. Top up your wallet - add credit by card or bank transfer, or pay at checkout as you go

  2. Choose your voucher - select the type, amount and any options

  3. Send it - deliver by email, SMS, individual link, or printable letter

  4. Recipient claims it - they open their unique link on a smartphone or computer, make their selection if applicable, and receive their voucher instantly or enter their delivery details if a delivered good.

Recipients do not need to create a Huggg account. The link is their voucher - once claimed, it is theirs to use.
