Huggg Payouts offers four energy voucher products. Each is suited to a different situation, depending on how your recipient pays for their energy and where they can redeem.
If you don't know how your recipient pays, send OneLink Energy. It lets the recipient choose the method that works for them.
Before you start: KYB
Each of these products is regulated, and your organisation needs to pass a Know Your Business (KYB) check before you can use them. KYB is done per brand, so a separate check is needed for each of:
PayPoint (covers PayPoint cash and PayPoint energy)
Post Office (covers Post Office cash and Post Office energy)
Prepaid energy cards (covers all card types: Energy Card, Water Card, Heating Oil Card)
If you want to use OneLink Energy, you'll need to have passed all three KYBs above, since OneLink can route to any of them.
If you haven't yet passed KYB for the product you want to use, email us at disbursements@huggg.me to start the process. Processing a KYB form takes 3 to 5 working days.

How to decide
Three questions, in order:
1. Do you know how your recipient pays for their energy?
If no, send OneLink Energy. It walks the recipient through the options when they open the link, so you don't need to know in advance.
2. If yes, do they pay a bill, top up a meter, or use off-grid fuel?
Energy or gas bill (direct debit, standing order, ad hoc): send an Energy Card.
Water bill: send a Water Card.
Meter top-up: choose between PayPoint energy and Post Office energy, depending on which network covers their provider. See PayPoint energy: what you need to know before sending and Post Office energy: what you need to know before sending for the provider lists.
Off-grid (heating oil, LPG, coal): send a Heating Oil Card directly, or use OneLink Energy to let the recipient choose. See Heating oil and off-grid energy: what you need to know before sending.
3. Can your recipient use online or in-person redemption?
If your recipient can't use online or phone (no internet access, no smartphone), prepaid energy cards won't work for them. PayPoint and Post Office require in-store redemption with the recipient's gas card, electricity key, or Smart Meter card.
When in doubt: OneLink Energy
If the situation is unclear or you're sending in bulk to recipients with different setups, OneLink Energy is the most flexible option. The recipient is asked when they open the link how they pay, and is then routed to the right product (prepaid energy card, PayPoint, Post Office, or a Heating Oil Card for off-grid).
Using OneLink Energy requires KYB for all three underlying brands (PayPoint, Post Office, and prepaid energy cards). For full details, see OneLink Energy: what you need to know before sending.
