elasticStage allows you to make your release available for purchase before its official release date.
Here’s how to enable pre-orders.
Step 1: Set Your Pre-Order Date
When creating or editing your release, go to the Metadata tab.
Here, you can select a Pre-Order Date. This determines when fans can begin placing orders before the official release date. Setting the pre-order date to the same day as the release date eliminates the pre-order period entirely.
Once the pre-order date is reached, your product will become purchasable via its Release Group link.
Step 2: Set Your Official Release Date
Your Release Date determines when the release is considered officially live.
Orders placed during the pre-order period will enter production according to your release settings and production timelines.
Step 3: Choose Whether Previews Are Available
When enabling pre-orders, you can decide whether track previews are available before release.
If enabled, fans can listen to preview clips on the pre-order page.
If disabled, previews will remain hidden until the release date.
To disable previews, select Disable Pre-Order Previews in the Metadata tab. Note that the preview setting must be enabled before the pre-order date is reached. Once the pre-order date has passed, the preview setting becomes locked and cannot be modified.
Important
Pre-orders only become visible once your release is attached to a Release Group.
Always review your release in the 3D preview and confirm your dates before publishing. After the pre-order date is reached or the release is locked, only certain fields—such as price, territory, release date, and quantity—can be edited. The pre-order preview setting cannot be modified at this stage. If you need to enable pre-order previews after the setting is locked, the only solution is to clone the release. Ensure the preview option is correctly enabled before publishing the new version. Note that support cannot manually enable previews for you.
