Want to sell vinyl records or CDs directly to fans—without managing stock, shipping, or customer support? elasticStage is built for exactly that. Once your release is live, every order is made to order and shipped directly to your fans.
Here’s how to start selling.
Step 1: Create your Page (your storefront)
Your Page is your public storefront on elasticStage. It can represent an artist, label, management company, project, soundtrack, or collective.
Your Page includes:
A short bio
Social links (e.g. YouTube, Instagram, X)
All releases connected to that Page
This is where fans will browse and buy your releases.
Step 2: Create a New Release
Begin building your release at https://elasticstage.com/create-your-own-vinyl-cd
You’ll be asked to choose:
Format: Vinyl or CD
Category: Single/EP or Album
Not sure which to choose?
→ See Vinyl & CD Release Formats You Can Create on elasticStage
→ See Singles, EPs & Albums Explained
Step 3: Add Your Metadata
You’ll need to add:
Primary Artist(s) and any Featured Artist(s)
EAN / Barcode (we provide one free of charge if you don’t have your own)
Retail Price
Release Date
You can also choose to:
Mark your release as a Limited Edition
Run a Pre-Order Campaign before the official release date
Select which territories your release is available in (or make it available worldwide)
Set your P&C line (copyright and phonographic rights information)

Step 4: Upload Your Audio
Add your tracks to the release.
For vinyl:
Assign tracks to Side A and Side B
Ensure each side meets duration limits (23 mins per side)
For CD:
Upload your full tracklist (up to 79 minutes total)
You’ll also enter metadata such as:
Track titles
Featured artists
ISRC codes (if available - we will provide them for free if you do not have ISRC codes)
For a detailed walkthrough, see:
→ How to Upload Tracks & Add Metadata on elasticStage
Step 5: Upload Your Artwork
Next, upload your release artwork.
You can upload:
PDF artwork files
PNG or JPEG files
Make sure your artwork meets our formatting requirements to avoid upload errors. You will then see a 3D preview of how your product will look.
For detailed guidance, see:
→ Artwork Requirements & Upload Guide
Step 6: Preview & Lock Your Release
Before locking your release, carefully review all key information, including:
Track order
Release metadata
Artwork files
Make sure everything is correct. Once you click Lock, you will no longer be able to edit these details.
After locking, you’ll have the option to:
Order a test copy
Order bulk copies for personal use (available in boxes of 20–50 units)
Ordering test or bulk copies is optional. You can also proceed directly to publishing your release for fans.
See:
→ How to Order a Test Copy
Step 7: Create & Attach a Release Group
After locking your release, the final step is to create and attach a Release Group.
A Release Group allows your product to appear on your Page and in the elasticStage store.
How to Attach a Release Group
Click Create Release Group.
The title will be automatically populated (you can edit it if needed).
Assign the Release Group to your Page (you can only select a Page you own or manage).
Choose whether the Release Group is:
Public (visible to everyone), or
Private (ideal for exclusive or invite-only releases).
Select the genre so your release appears in the correct category on the elasticStage store.
Once attached, your release will automatically go live on your selected release date.
Not yet created your page?
What Happens After You Attach a Release Group?
When you have attached a Release Group, you’ll receive:
A unique URL to promote your release
A downloadable image asset of your product
A QR code linking directly to your release page
You can share these across social media, newsletters, websites, or at live shows.
Fans can purchase directly from your Page. We manufacture each order on demand, ship to fans in 90+ countries, and you earn a revenue share from every sale.
