An operator can hold more than one role, and the roles simply add together. Someone with Service and Marketing reaches everything either role reaches, with no conflict and no order of precedence.
This is why Admin is rarely the right answer to "they need access to more things". Two roles gives them the two sections they asked for; Admin gives them the operator list and your integrations as well.
When to combine instead of granting Admin
A front desk manager who also sends the newsletter. Service plus Marketing. This is the common case in a small team, and it is the whole reason multi-role exists.
A marketer who handles campaign replies. Marketing on its own cannot open the Unified Inbox, so replies to their own campaign are invisible to them. Adding Service fixes it.
A duty manager covering weekends. Service during the week, plus Marketing so they can send a last-minute broadcast when the marketer is off.
An owner who wants to see everything but change nothing. Service plus Marketing gives full visibility without the ability to reconfigure the account.
Adding a second role
You need to be an Admin to do this.
Go to Settings in the left menu.
Open Operators.
Select the operator you want to change, or select + Add new to invite someone.
Under Add role, choose the first role.
Select Add role again and choose the second. Repeat for a third if you need one.
Select Save.
The operator sees the new sections the next time they load the platform. Ask them to refresh if a section is still missing.
Removing one of them
Removing a role takes its sections away and leaves the rest untouched. An operator with Service and Marketing who loses Marketing keeps the Unified Inbox exactly as before.
Work in progress is not deleted with the role. A campaign built by someone who later loses the Marketing role stays where it is; they can no longer open it.
What this does not do
Combining never subtracts. There is no role that restricts another, so you cannot use a second role to take something away. If someone has too much access, remove a role rather than adding one.
Service plus Marketing is not Admin. Neither role can invite operators, change access, import guests, or reach Settings, so holding both still leaves all four out of range.
Combining does not widen property access. Roles and properties are separate controls. See Accessible Apps.
Adding Admin makes the other roles irrelevant. Admin already reaches everything, so pairing it with Service or Marketing changes nothing.
