The Rate Plans section

What each column means, and why a rate plan does not appear until a reservation has used it.

The Rate Plans section shows every rate plan Bookboost knows about, read from your PMS. Its main use is checking what a rate plan is called and whether it is active before you build a campaign around it, and confirming that a rate plan exists at all before you try to use it in a token.

A rate plan only appears after a reservation has used it. This catches people out constantly. Bookboost does not receive your full rate plan list from the PMS. It learns about a rate plan the first time a reservation arrives carrying it, so a brand new rate plan is invisible here until somebody books it.

The Rate Plans table

What each column means

  • Name. The title of the rate plan as it is configured in your PMS.

  • Property. Which of your properties the rate plan belongs to.

  • Code. The internal identifier, used for mapping and reference.

  • Attributes. Extra information Bookboost can read from the PMS and stores for reference. It is not used anywhere in the platform and it is not available as a token.

  • Is Active. Whether the rate plan is currently available for bookings.

  • Is Public. Whether the rate plan is publicly visible to guests.

Making a rate plan appear

If a rate plan you expect is not listed, the usual reason is that nothing has been booked on it yet.

  1. Create a test reservation in your PMS using that rate plan.

  2. Open the Rate Plans section in Bookboost and check that it now appears.

  3. If it still does not, contact support.

What this does not do

  • It is not a rate plan manager. Everything here is read from your PMS. Rate plans are created, renamed, and deactivated there, not in Bookboost.

  • It does not show rate plans nobody has booked. No reservation, no row.

  • It does not show every field your PMS holds. Bookboost stores more than it displays, and shows the fields that are useful here.

  • Attributes are not usable in campaigns. They are stored for reference only.

  • It does not contain prices. The rate plan is the label, not the rate.

What to do next

To narrow a long list down, see Sorting and filtering rate plans. The equivalent section for rooms is covered in The Spaces section.
