We currently support over 1,000 banks in Germany β including many major banks, direct banks, savings banks (Sparkassen), and cooperative banks (Volksbanken).
Please provide us with the full name of your bank.

Your transactions will be imported automatically into the web app.
Updates occur daily.
After authorization, it may take up to two business days for the first transactions to appear.

Why do I need to renew my bank connection regularly?
Due to legal requirements (PSD2), your authorization can only be valid for 90 to 180 days (depending on the bank).
If the bank connection has expired, you can reauthorize it directly in the web app.
In Profile β Bank connections, you can see how long your active connection is still valid and when it will expire.
After expiration, you can simply reauthorize and activate it there.
This is important to ensure your bookkeeping remains complete and up-to-date at all times.
How secure is the data transmission?
How secure is the data transmission?
The connection is made via a PSD2-compliant interface. PSD2 is an EU directive that precisely regulates how third-party providers can access bank data and sets the highest security standards.
You always confirm access through strong customer authentication (e.g., password + TAN or biometric verification).
Data transmission is encrypted and occurs between your bank and our authorized interface partner, GoCardless, who establishes the connection on our behalf.
Your authorization is time-limited (90β180 days). If you wish to disconnect the bank account before it expires, please contact us β we will take care of it for you.
Your bank data is used exclusively for your bookkeeping and tax filings.

Without a valid authorization, we can no longer retrieve your bank transactions. This means:
Your bookkeeping will no longer be up-to-date
Tax filings cannot be prepared correctly
Additional manual work for you
We cannot provide our services in full
Can I connect multiple business accounts?
Can I connect multiple business accounts?
Yes, you can connect multiple business accounts at different banks simultaneously.
However, currently only one business account per bank/institution is possible β unless your bank technically supports connecting multiple accounts from the same bank.
This means: For example, if you have multiple business accounts at Sparkasse, they can only be connected if Sparkasse allows it through the interface.
Please note:
We need the necessary information for each bank connection (see Connect a new business account β hereβs how it works).
Private accounts should not be connected.
Special case for Kontist accounts
Special case for Kontist accounts
For some of our older existing clients, Kontist accounts are connected via a Kontist partner interface. This interface no longer supports combining multiple accounts.
This means:
Connecting an additional account: The existing Kontist interface can no longer be used. In this case, your Kontist account must be newly connected via our own banking interface.
Switching accounts (replacing Kontist): We only connect the new business account β also via our own interface.
Cost notice:
As soon as an additional account is connected, the free Kontist plan from your previous smarta package will no longer apply. Please contact Kontist directly for suitable account models and pricing.
Good to know:
Your smarta plan remains unaffected (monthly payments for tax services do not change).

If your bank technically supports connecting spaces or sub-accounts, this is generally possible.
Please note: Only business accounts should be connected.
