In this article, you will learn how to release a bank connection created by us or renew it after 90 to 180 days, how to recognize related notes and status messages in the web app, or how to request a new bank connection.
1) How to release the bank connection
Option A: Modal window after login
After logging in, a large modal “Approval required” appears. Click on “Activate Connection” to start the approval process.
Option B: Notification banner in the web app
If an approval is pending, you will see a notification banner at the top of the app. Click on “Activate Connection.”
Option C: Via your profile
You can also start the approval at any time via Profile → Banking connections.
Note: When your banking connection is created, we automatically send you an email with an approval link. You can also use this link to approve the bank connection directly.
2) What happens after approval?
“Connection” (Establishing connection):
After approval, the web app shows that the bank connection is being established.
“Active” (Bank connection established)
Once the connection is active, you will see the status “Active” under Profile → Bank Connections. You can also tell because bank transactions appear in the web app.
Important: The first transaction import can take up to 2 days.
3) If something goes wrong (Error)
If establishing the bank connection fails, a notification banner will appear in the app and/or the corresponding status will be shown under Profile → Banking connections.
Click on “Support” – your Intercom messenger will open with a pre-filled message. You just need to click Send. We will take care of it and get back to you.
4) All bank connections & status in your profile
In Profile → Bank Connections, you can see all linked accounts along with their status and details (e.g., activation date and validity).
Status & meaning (customer-friendly wording):
Active – The bank connection is established and transactions are being imported.
Connecting – The connection is currently being established.
Failed – An error occurred while establishing the connection (please click Support).
Renew – The approval must be created for the first time or has expired; please renew so we can continue importing your bank transactions.
Note on validity: For regulatory reasons, approval is valid for 90–180 days depending on the bank. After that, you need to renew it. We will show you a timely notification in the web app, and you can update the approval there in just a few clicks.
5) Add another bank
You can link additional business accounts at any time. Go to Profile → Bank Connections → Add Bank.
The messenger (Intercom) will open and guide you through a short query/onboarding form. If your desired bank is available, we will set it up for you.

6) Short summary
Release: via email link or in the web app (modal, notification banner, or Profile → Bank Connections).
After approval: Status “Connecting,” then “Active”; the first full import of bank transactions can take up to 2 days.
Error: Click Support in the notification banner – the messenger opens with a pre-filled message.
Renew: After 90 to 180 days, you will be reminded in the web app and can renew the bank connection.
More accounts: Start via Profile → Bank Connections → Add Bank.
