Note: this Guide uses the NSOC category as an example, however, the same process applies to all audit categories
When a room is created, it is automatically given one Internal Space. However, it is always possible to add another Internal Space to the same room. The new Internal Space can then be given its own element template if you wish to audit it separately.
Example: A bed bay may have its own nurses’ station inside it. This could be added as a second Internal Space, using the Nurse Station element template. This enables you to audit the bay using the Bed Bay template, and the nurses’ station using the Nurse Station template as well.
1. Start by navigating to your Configure category Locations page:
On the next screen, select
.
2. On the following screen, use the location filters near the top to see only the room you want to add an Internal Space to. (Tip: click in each filter and start typing to see matches.) Then, click on Add an Internal space:
3. You will see a popup box where you can give your new Internal Space a name, a description if you wish, and an element template. The correct location is already selected, because you have ensured this in the previous step.
NB: After adding an Internal Space, you will need to refresh your screen in order to see the number change here:
4. For your new Internal Space to be available to audit, you need to give it a Risk level. Click on the number in the image above to see all the room’s Internal Spaces:
Click on the word None in the Risk column to give the new Internal Space a Risk level.
5. For your new Internal Space to appear in audits, you also need to assign it to a Functional Area. To do this, return to step 1, and instead of
, select
.
6. On the next screen, use the location filters (see step 2) to select the Building where your Functional Area is located. If your Functional Area is all on the same Floor, select the Floor too.
Find your Functional Area in the list, then click on the number in the Internal Spaces column:
7. A popup box will list all the rooms on that Floor. (If you have not selected a Floor in the location filters, it will list all the Floors in the Building; use the + signs to expand each Floor and see its rooms.) Ticked rooms are the ones currently assigned to your chosen Functional Area.
Rooms with a + sign have more than one Internal Space; click on the + sign to see them:
Once you can see the extra Internal Spaces, tick any that you want to add to the Functional Area, then click Submit. They will now appear in audits.
