Note: this Guide uses the NSOC category as an example, however, the same process applies to all audit categories
1. Start by navigating to your Configure category Locations page:
From the next screen, select
.
2. From the following screen, you can:
a) Create a room template by clicking here:
For instance, you might want to add a 3 Bed Bay template to the list above.
If you create a template, you will then need to decide which elements should go in it. Initially, the number of elements in the column headed Elements will be 0:
To add elements to the template, click on the 0 and select the elements you need.
b) Add/remove elements to/from the template. This is also done by clicking on the number in the Elements column, as above.
NB: changing the elements in a template does not automatically change the elements in the rooms which have that template. The reason for this is that auditors have the ability to add or remove elements themselves whilst auditing. If changing a template automatically changed all the rooms which have that template, auditors would find that the changes they had made themselves had disappeared.
To make specific rooms reflect the changed template, reapply the template to those rooms – see the Guide How to Change a Room's Template – Micad (zendesk.com) for details of how to do this. Bear in mind that when you do this, changes made previously by auditors will disappear, unless you have captured them in the changes you have made to the template. For instance, if auditors have previously added the element Medical Equipment to the room, but your template does not include Medical Equipment, it will disappear from the room. Or suppose auditors have previously removed Internal Glazing; if your template still includes Internal Glazing, it will reappear in the room.
So it’s always advisable to consult with your auditors before making any changes of this nature.
