What is the Go/No-Go Checklist?
Evaluating bid/no-bid decisions is one of the most time-consuming parts of the procurement process. Even with AI-generated summaries, bid teams often have a specific, recurring set of questions they must answer before deciding whether to pursue a tender or discard it.
The Go/No-Go Checklist allows your organisation to define a standard list of critical questions and uses AI to automatically answer them for every Business Opportunity you evaluate.

Why use the Go/No Go Checklist?
Stronger bid decisions come from combining experience with data, rather than relying on gut feelings or the urgency to fill a pipeline. Using a standardised checklist ensures that:
Deal-breakers are spotted early: Identify mandatory requirements (like specific ISO certifications or minimum turnover) that you cannot meet before you start writing.
Decisions are objective: It forces your bid team to interrogate every document with the same standard questions, ensuring consistency across your entire pipeline.
Resources are optimized: By confidently disqualifying low-fit opportunities earlier, you can dedicate more time and resources to the bids you have a high probability of winning.
Ultimately, the single biggest lever in improving your win rate is learning to say "No" earlier. The Go/No Go Checklist gives you the framework to do exactly that.
How the AI Generates Answers
To provide accurate, highly tailored answers, the AI consumes and cross-references data from three distinct sources:
Original Business Opportunity Documents: The standard tender documents attached to the opportunity.
Company Knowledge Base (Document Library): Your organization’s uploaded documents (provided the AI toggle is enabled).
User-Uploaded Documents: Any specific documents you manually upload directly to the individual opportunity page.
By combining the tender requirements with your company's specific capabilities (from your document library), the AI provides answers in the exact language of your questions, complete with exact references so you can verify the source of the information.
Anybody from your organisation can view the answers from the checklist on each tender opportunity page, once the checklist has been generated for the first time.
Navigating and Completing the Go/No Go Checklist
This guide will walk you through how to locate and use the Go/No Go Checklist on a specific business opportunity.
Before you can evaluate a Business Opportunity, you need to define the questions your organisation cares about. The Go/No-Go Checklist relies on a single, shared pool of questions and templates for your entire organisation.
Navigating to the Checklist Manager
You can access the management page in two ways:
If you are an Organisation Administrator you can go to General Settings and click on Go/No-Go checklist.
Alternatively, on the Business Opportunity page all users can select the Go/No Go Checklist tab and select Manage checklists in the About card.
Locating the Checklist
Log into the platform and navigate to the Business Opportunities or Explore dashboard.
Click on a specific business opportunity or tender to open its detailed view.
On the opportunity detail page, locate and click on the Go/No Go Checklist tab in the main navigation menu.
Completing the Assessment
Once the checklist is open, you will see a series of questions designed to evaluate your fit for the tender.
Review the Criteria: Work through the questions logically. These will typically cover mandatory requirements, strategic fit, and resource availability.
Collaborate with your team: If you are unsure about a technical or commercial requirement, you can save your progress and consult with your bid team or subject matter experts.
Log your Decision: Based on the answers, the system will help illuminate whether this is a viable opportunity. Select your final status—Go (Pursue the bid) or No Go (Decline the bid).
Logging this decision not only updates the status of the opportunity in your pipeline but also provides valuable historical data for your team to review future win/loss trends.
5 Key Areas for a Successful Go/No-Go Decision
A strong Go/No-Go decision balances your team's experience with hard evidence. When completing the checklist, you are fundamentally looking at the opportunity from five critical perspectives. Keeping these in mind will help you answer the checklist questions more accurately:
Strategic Alignment Does this tender reinforce your long-term direction? Pursuing tenders outside your core strategic focus might deliver short-term revenue, but it can lead to fragmented pipelines. Consider if the opportunity aligns with your priority sectors and target buyers.
Buyer Insight Do you understand how the decision will really be made? While evaluation criteria provide a framework, real decisions are shaped by people. Look at the buyer's past award patterns to see if they consistently prioritize price over quality, or vice versa, and adjust your decision accordingly.
Win Probability Do you have a credible path to winning? Being able to deliver the work is not the same as being positioned to win it. Assess the competitive density of the market, who else is likely to bid, and who has won similar tenders with this buyer before.
Pursuit Capability Do you have the resources to pursue the bid? Pursuing a contract requires focus. Overlapping deadlines, limited availability of experts, or a stretched bid team can severely impact the quality of your response.
Commercial Viability Would winning this be a success? Look beyond the submission and consider the delivery. Reflect on how similar contracts have performed in the past regarding margins, effort, and delivery risk. Risks visible during the bidding phase rarely disappear after the award!
Evaluating an Opportunity with the Go/No-Go Checklist
Once your organisation has set up its assessment criteria, you can begin using the checklist to rapidly qualify Business Opportunities.
How to Use the Checklist Tab
When viewing a business opportunity, you will notice the page is divided into three tabs: Overview, Go/No-Go Checklist, and Documents.
Navigate to the Go/No-Go Checklist tab.
Click the Generate button.
Note: If documents are still processing, the button will be disabled until they are ready. If there are no documents attached to the business opportunity at all, you will be prompted to upload documents first.
The AI will scan the available documents and generate answers to your predefined questions. This button can only be clicked once per opportunity. If another user in your organisation has already generated the answers, you will instantly see their results, ensuring your team isn't duplicating work.
Reviewing Answers and Manual Scoring
For every answer generated, the AI includes a disclaimer and References showing exactly which document(s) the answer was pulled from.
If the AI is missing the context needed to answer a specific question, it will leave it blank and encourage you to upload additional documents to your knowledge base.
Underneath each generated answer, you can manually log your team's decision for that specific criteria using three options:
Checkmark: (Go / Criteria Met)
Dash: (Neutral / Needs Review)
Cross: (No-Go / Criteria Failed)
Exporting Your Results
Once your review is complete, you can easily share the checklist with stakeholders outside of the platform. Click the Export button to download a PDF or Excel file. The export perfectly preserves the order of your questions, the AI's answers, the source references, and your manual scoring.
