How to search for opportunities

A guide for using the Explore feature to search and find business opportunities

The ability to explore tender opportunities is available to all users, including non-registered users, via our Public Search page. However, the full Explore functionality is most valuable for users with an active subscription license for their preferred regions. Without a license, access is limited, and filtering options may not be available.

If you have an active subscription, this guide will help you navigate the search functionality for tenders and publications, enabling you to find relevant opportunities quickly and efficiently.

Options available depend on your subscription plan.

To use the search functionality:

  1. Log in to the system.

  2. Click Explore (magnifying glass icon) in the left-hand sidebar menu.

You can search within:

  • My regions – Regions included in your subscription plan or from the country your organisation is registered in.

  • Other regions – Additional regions that may be available depending on your subscription coverage. If a region is not included in your plan, you can still access a limited view to explore what opportunities are available.

Search keywords

To begin, enter your desired keyword(s) in the search bar to define the type of opportunities you want to find.

The search results will display tenders where your keyword(s) appear in the title, summary, or detailed tender information.

In the search bar, you can also use the known Boolean Operators to narrow down or broaden your search results, like AND, OR. NOT, etc (typed in ALL CAPS).

In addition, you can use “ “ to keep words together in a search, for example “electric car”

( ) groups terms together which then dictates the order of the search, for example (“electric cars” OR “electric vehicles”) AND motorbikes

Use Filters to refine your search:

There are four default filters available for quick and easy access:

  • Location: Select the region from which you would like to get tenders. If you select a parent region, i.e. the country of delivery, all city locations will be automatically selected. Note that the available location options depend on your subscription. You should contact your organisation administrator if you require more permissions.

  • Tender status: Choose whether you want to see tenders that are open for offers, have a passed deadline, have a contract awarded, or fall under other statuses.

  • Opportunity types: Choose the type of opportunities you would like to explore.

  • Publication date: Filter tenders published within a specific date range. You can either enter exact dates or choose one of the quick-select options. The time frame will update automatically on the main page.

Click Filters to refine your search further:

  • Bid due date: Search tenders based on their deadline date. Enter specific dates or select one of the quick options to update the time frame.

  • Original Language: Filter tenders by the language in which they were originally published.

  • Categories (CPV): Refine results by selecting one or more CPV codes. Click on ‘Add categories’ to select relevant codes. Remember, CPV is a catalogue of over 9000 product and service codes and is used as keywords to make it easier to identify a specific product or service.

  • Contract value: Filter your results by selecting a contract value threshold. At least one threshold level must be selected to perform a search.

  • Expiring contracts only: Limit your search to contracts that are approaching their expiration date.

  • Include inactive tenders: Check this box if you would like to include all inactive tenders; these are tenders that are considered inactive 30 days after the deadline or, if it does not have a deadline, 30 days after the publication date.
