Q1. What is a watchlist and how to manage it?

A watchlist is a key part of a trader's toolkit, allowing you to group your preferred markets in one convenient location for quick and easy access. This streamlines your trading experience, eliminating the need to search for markets manually when time is of the essence.

Managing your watchlist is straightforward.

  • Head to the Home page and tap 'More' under the Watchlist section.

  • Tap the '+' icon in the top right corner to add new markets.

  • To remove a market, press and hold the market name and swipe left.

Q2. How do I monitor my trade activity on my phone?

You can easily keep track of your current holdings and open orders anytime through the IG Markets mobile app.

To view your open orders and current holdings, navigate to the 'Portfolio' page by tapping the Portfolio icon at the bottom of the screen.

On this page, you will be able to see:

  • Open Orders — displaying your pending orders.

  • My Holdings — showing all your current share positions, the number of units held, current market value, and gain/loss percentage.

Q3. How can I check trade history?

To view your trade history, navigate to either the 'Home' or 'Portfolio' page and tap the clock icon in the top right corner, located next to your profile icon. This will take you directly to the Activity section.

On the Activity page, select the 'Orders' tab to view your trade history. Completed orders are listed under the 'Completed' section, organised by date. Each order will display the stock name, order type, and its outcome:

  • If an order shows 'Rejected' in red, it means the order was not executed and did not go through.

  • If no status label is shown, the order was successfully completed and executed.

To view the full details of a completed order, simply tap on any transaction from the Activity page. This will open a detailed order summary screen displaying the following information:

  • Status — confirms order status.

  • Name — the asset traded.

  • Date and Time — the exact date and time the transaction was executed.

  • Direction — indicates whether the order was a buy or sell.

  • Amount Traded — the total dollar value of the transaction.

  • Execution Price — the exact price at which the order was filled.

  • Fees & Taxes — any applicable fees or taxes charged on the transaction.

  • Asset Amount — the quantity of the asset bought or sold.

  • Order ID — a unique reference number for the transaction, which can be copied by tapping the icon next to it.
