OneLink Cash - what you need to know before sending

Pre-send guidance for OneLink Cash - the flexible cash voucher that lets your recipient choose between PayPoint and Post Office. Covers KYB requirements, the £100 cap and what your recipient sees when they open the link.

When to use OneLink Cash

OneLink Cash gives your recipient the choice of collecting cash from either PayPoint or Post Office. Instead of you picking one for them, they open the link and choose which network they want to use. Vouchers are capped at £100 per voucher (the same as PayPoint cash).

This is the best option when you don't know your recipient's preference, or you're sending in bulk to recipients with different needs. If you already know which network suits them, sending the specific product (PayPoint cash or Post Office cash) is simpler. If you need more than £100, send Post Office cash directly. See: Which cash voucher should I send? for a full comparison.

Before you start: KYB

OneLink Cash can route to either PayPoint or Post Office depending on what your recipient picks, so you'll need to have passed Know-Your-Business (KYB) checks for both brands before you can send OneLink Cash:

  • PayPoint KYB

  • Post Office KYB

If you haven't yet passed both KYBs, email us at disbursements@huggg.me to start the process. Each KYB form typically takes 3-5 working days to process.

Fees

There are extra fees associated with this product. The fee charged depends on which option the recipient picks (PayPoint or Post Office). For an up-to-date breakdown of issuance fees, cancellation fees and any other charges, email us at disbursements@huggg.me.

How it works

When your recipient opens the link, they're asked which network they want to use. They choose one of two options:

Recipient picks

What they get

PayPoint

A PayPoint cash voucher, collected over the counter at any of around 28,000 PayPoint locations.

Post Office

A Post Office cash voucher, collected over the counter at any of around 11,500 Post Office branches.

Once your recipient makes their selection, the voucher is generated and the choice cannot be changed. From your reporting perspective, the order is recorded as a OneLink Cash send and the redemption details (which option they chose) appear in your reports.

Pre-send checklist

Before you send a OneLink Cash voucher, confirm:

  • Your organisation has passed both PayPoint and Post Office KYBs

  • The amount is £100 or under - if your recipient needs more, send Post Office cash directly

  • Your recipient has access to a phone or computer to open the link and make their selection

What to know

£100 cap. OneLink Cash is capped at £100 because PayPoint cash is also capped at £100. If your recipient needs more, send Post Office cash directly (up to £4,000) or ATM cash (up to £500).

The recipient chooses, not you. Once you send a OneLink Cash voucher, your recipient picks whether they want PayPoint or Post Office. If you need them to use one specifically, send that product directly instead.

Single transaction at the till. Whichever option your recipient picks, they must collect the full amount in one transaction.

ATM cash is not part of OneLink Cash. If you want to give your recipient the option of ATM, send ATM cash directly.

Common issues and what to do

Issue

What to do

Recipient needs more than £100

Send Post Office cash directly (up to £4,000) or ATM cash (up to £500).

Recipient picked the wrong option by mistake

Once a selection is made, the voucher is generated and the choice is final. Whether a replacement can be issued is your decision as the sender, based on your organisation's policy.

Store doesn't have enough cash on hand

Recipient should try a different location of the same network (a larger PayPoint store, or a main Post Office branch).

Recipient has neither PayPoint nor Post Office nearby

Consider ATM cash, if your recipient has a UK mobile and a PIN4Cash ATM accessible.

How your recipient collects the cash

Recipients open their link, choose between PayPoint and Post Office, and are routed to the appropriate cash voucher. They then collect the cash in store. For full recipient instructions, see the recipient-side article: How do I redeem my OneLink Cash voucher?
