When you create a virtual card, it is activated immediately. You can thus start using your Hero account as soon as it is opened and funded, thanks to this virtual card.

For a physical card, the process is slightly different. The card is pre-activated, meaning online payments are possible using the virtual version available in your app. However, PIN code and contactless (NFC) payments will remain inactive until you receive the physical card.

Once the physical card is in your possession, you can complete its activation directly in the app and make your first payment using a PIN code
