Two ways to export project data
Eturnity Expert offers two different ways to export your project data as a CSV file, depending on whether you need data from multiple projects at once or from a single project.
Project list export: Exports selected, visible, or all filtered projects directly from the Table View of the Project Overview—ideal for ERP imports, reporting, or bulk analysis.
Project Variant Export: Exports the data of the active variant of an open project via the Export data page—ideal when you want to transfer the data of a specific project variant into another piece of software.
Feature | Project list export | Project Variant Export |
Location | Projects > Project Overview (Table View) | Project > Export data |
Scope | Multiple projects: selected, current page, or all filtered projects | The active variant of the open project |
Format options | Field separator and Quoted text can be selected | No format options |
Prerequisites
Table View: The project list export is only available in the Table View of the Project Overview, not in the Kanban views.
Project access: You need viewing permission for the projects you want to export. Some users only see and export projects they are assigned to as Project Manager.
Project list export from the Project Overview
Use this method when you need data from multiple projects at once.
Navigate to Projects > Project Overview and switch to the Table View.
Optionally set filters to narrow down the projects you need. The Export All option will later take your active filters into account.
Select the projects you want using the checkboxes in the first column. Once at least one project is checked, an action bar with export options appears.
Choose one of the following options:
Export: exports only the individually checked projects
Export Page: appears when you check the header checkbox, and exports all projects on the currently loaded page
Export All: also appears when the header checkbox is checked, and exports all projects that match the active filters, regardless of page
In the window that opens, choose the desired Field separator (Semicolon or Comma) and Quoted text setting (Double quotes or Single quotes).
Click Export. Once the file is ready, click Download document to save the CSV file.
Tip: The header checkbox only checks the projects loaded on the current page at first. Use Export All to capture every project matching your filters—even across multiple pages.
Project Variant Export via the Export data page
Use this method when you want to export the data of a single project variant you already have open.
Open the project you need and make sure the variant you want to export is active—the export always applies to the currently active variant.
Navigate to Export data in the project menu.
In the Project Variant Export section, click Download CSV.
The CSV file downloads directly.
Tip: The same page offers two other ways to transfer data: under Data transfer to ERP/CRM, you can connect Eturnity to a supported ERP/CRM system (set up under Settings > Integrations > ERP/CRM), and under Webhooks/API, you can sync data with your own tools in real time. Both options automate data exchange and often replace the manual CSV export.
What the CSV file contains
Both export types take into account your project data, including any freely definable technologies your company has configured in the settings. The project list export contains one row per project with summarized overview data, while the Project Variant Export includes the detailed data of a single variant—including article and service line items. The table below shows which information is included in which export.
Information included | Project list export | Project Variant Export |
Project information | Project name, project reference, project status, project manager, and commissioning date | Version number, project name, and project reference |
Variants | One row per project variant, including variant status, creation date, and number of offers | Data of the currently exported variant |
Customer data | Name, address, email address, and private, mobile, and business phone numbers | Name, address, and phone number |
Building data | Building address, building type, year built, and last renovation | Building address |
Systems included | Status information for photovoltaics, battery, e-mobility, energy management, heating, and roof | Detailed line items for the systems included in the project |
Technical data | Including generator output, system size, roof type, energy production, self-consumption, independence, battery capacity, and heating output | Including annual consumption, roof name, module tilt, module orientation, module layout, specific annual yield, generator output, and number of modules |
Costs and profitability | Summarized prices per system, additional costs, discounts, total price, subsidies, tax savings, production costs, IRR, and contribution margin | Total investment costs, cost price, recurring costs, and contribution margin |
Articles and services | No individual articles or service line items | Detailed list of articles and services with system, group, manufacturer, type, description, quantity, unit, sales and cost price, discount, contribution margin, supplier, and article number |
Discounts | Discounts as a summarized total amount | Dedicated section with discount name, type, and value |
Process and scheduling data | Status and date of process steps such as site visit, offer, follow-up, implementation, sale, loss, commissioning, grid registration, and invoicing | No process or scheduling data |
Update data | Last update of the project and of the contribution margin | No update data |
Common use cases
ERP import: Bring project data into your accounting or ERP software without typing it in manually.
Reporting and analysis: Open the CSV file in Excel or Google Sheets to build your own analyses, pivot tables, or dashboards.
Status reports for customers or management: Export filtered project lists—for example, all projects owned by a specific Project Manager or in a specific status—for recurring reports.
Data transfer to other systems: Export a single project variant to move its data into another internal tool or a partner system.
Troubleshooting
I don't see any export options in the Project Overview
Cause: You are in a Kanban view instead of the Table View, or no project is checked yet.
Solution: Switch to the Table View and check at least one project using the checkbox in the first column.
"Export All" contains fewer projects than expected
Cause: Active filters are narrowing down the exported set of projects.
Solution: Review the active filters in the Project Overview and remove them if needed before exporting again.
I can't find the "Export data" page in the project menu
Cause: The menu items available in a project can vary depending on your license, module activation, and user permissions.
Solution: Contact Eturnity Support (support@eturnity.com) if the page is consistently missing even though you expect to see it.
