Key benefits

Key to the experience is the ability to drill into, edit, search, group, filter and sort data using the widgets on the dashboard. The use of the Landing Experience is to allow users to perform the vast majority of their work from the landing page, rather than needing to navigate into individual records. It also supports prompt filters for custom widgets that utilize user reports.

Configuration steps prior to using the feature

1. Turn on the Landing Experience feature at a company level for External Client user type.

2. Configure announcements to display on the Landing Experience for external clients (optional).

3. Update security role permissions for an internal user in order to use the Landing Experience Dashboard Maintenance. Note that it is an internal user (i.e. User Type = Internal), that configures the dashboard and not an external user. (The Landing Experience Dashboard Maintenance page is shipped OFF by default).

4. Create a new dashboard or preview an existing Landing Experience dashboard as an internal user.

5. Edit Landing Experience dashboard as an internal user which includes

6. Customize the navigation side menu bar for External Client user type - by default, no items will be displayed except for "Change Company" if an external user has access to more than one company.

7. Assign security role to a dashboard if more than one dashboard is desired for a given company.

Things to Note

  • Logos / company images can be uploaded to display in the Landing Experience Dashboard

  • Internal users have a control to log out, change their password and navigate to the User Preferences page. External client users are able to log out and change their password.

  • The left-hand side menu in the Landing Experience for external users can be customized and is controlled by the configuration options on the Portal Menu Configuration screen at the Company Level. For portal items to appear, they must have a user type of <External Client>. It is possible to have one menu for all companies and different menus for different companies, but it is not possible to have different menus for different dashboards
