The fields available to populate are:

  • Inactive: When unchecked, the dashboard is available for display. When checked, the dashboard is hidden. Any inactive dashboard will have a warning message at the top of the dashboard.

  • Name: The Landing Experience Dashboard Name which will be displayed on the Landing Experience Dashboards screen which is visible only to users with edit rights. This is a mandatory field.

  • Title: Appears at the top of the Landing Experience Dashboard as well as the Landing Experience Dashboard grid.

  • Description: The description can only be viewed by internal users on the Landing Experience Dashboards screen.

  • Refresh Time (Hours): Caching is per user. This sets the default number of hours that the system will not automatically re-run user reports for widgets on a user's dashboard. A recommended value is 8 hours. A higher value improves general system performance by running reports less often. A lower value refreshes data more frequently. Certain widgets can override this setting. A user can always force a refresh in a widget to see the latest data and update their cache.

The following fields are specific to configuring dashboards for internal users. It is recommended to enable the Menu and Search settings for dashboards viewed by internal users only.

  • Enable Global Search: When enabled, a search box will appear on the upper left side of the Dashboard for Internal users. This functions as a searching tool to look into Assignment records, Business Rules, Email Templates, Employee records, Pages, Quick Workflows, User Reports, and User Report Types.

  • Enable for Internal Users: Tick the checkbox to allow Landing Experience Dashboards to be viewed by Internal Users.

  • Show on Page: When the "Enable for Internal Users" option is enabled, this field will appear and allows users to configure where the certain dashboard can be seen or located in a specific page. This allows faster navigation in between dashboards configurable to a selected screen.

  • Internal User Data Sensitivity: Optionally, data sensitivity can be applied in the Landing Experience Dashboard to Internal Users. By selecting an option in the drop-down list, it will list out the Data Sensitivity Categories and will honor what is based on the configuration set in the security role. To learn more about applying Data Sensitivity to User Roles, you can check out this How to apply a data sensitivity category to a security role article.

Once saved, the Landing Experience Dashboard screen is displayed in edit mode. From here you can start to customize the dashboard by clicking the

add widget

button to add widgets.

Things to Note

  • The navigational menu buttons can be overridden in the Menu Item Override screen and is only available to external client users.

  • Screen rights are applied on both the Navigational Menu and the Global Search setting. If screen rights are not available to a certain user (e.g. Company or Billing screen), the certain menu will not appear. Same goes with the Global Search as it will filter out screens or pages that is not available to the user.

  • The logo and colors set in the company/system level theme builder will be applied in the Landing Experience Dashboard.

  • If the default dashboard is set to inactive, the user will get an error message saying that the user doesn’t have rights to the dashboard.
