elasticStage uses an on-demand, revenue-sharing model. This means you can sell vinyl or CDs with no minimum orders and no upfront manufacturing or fulfilment costs.
We also cover the cost of replacing copies that are lost or damaged in transit when they are sold to fans. If you need copies for yourself (promo, tour stock, events), you can order bulk copies at a discount.
1) Choose your format and price category
Creators choose a product (Vinyl/CD) and upload music to elasticStage. You then set the retail price by selecting from our available price categories.
The product itself is the same across price categories. The main difference is how much you earn: choosing a higher price category typically results in higher royalties per sale.
*Prices are subject to change as per the T&Cs on elasticstage.com
2) elasticStage covers production and fulfilment costs
elasticStage covers the costs required to manufacture and deliver your release to fans, including:
Manufacturing
Packaging and print production
Fulfilment and shipping operations
Mechanical royalties
Customer support for fan orders
3) Fans purchase your release, and you earn royalties
When a fan buys your vinyl or CD, we manufacture it on-demand and ship it to them. You then receive a percentage of revenue from each sale as royalties.
The royalty percentage depends on the price category you selected:
Buying Bulk Copies (Promo, Tour Stock & Events)
Bulk orders are intended for promo copies and stocking up for tours, events, or direct sales. They are not meant as your primary way of selling records. For ongoing fan sales, we recommend using the elasticStage web store, where you pay nothing upfront and earn royalties from the first copy sold.
Bulk copies can only be ordered once your release is live on the elasticStage store. Available box sizes include 20, 25, 40, 50, and 100 units (depending on the product type). Your estimated shipping date will be shown before you place the order.
Bulk orders are typically discounted (for example, 25% off retail), but bulk purchases do not generate royalties.
