A guest's Master Profile opens with a Guest insights card: a few sentences on who that guest is, drawn from their history in Bookboost. It covers stay patterns, how the guest travels, and preferences such as allergies or a favourite room type, so front desk and CRM staff get the picture before a check-in or a reply, rather than reading through a guest's notes and past reservations.
What the summary shows
The summary is written from the guest's record in Bookboost, including their reservations, notes, and tags across every Profile clustered into that Master Profile. Depending on what the record holds, it can describe:
Stay patterns across past and upcoming reservations, for example a guest who returns each spring or usually stays midweek.
Travel context, for example whether the guest tends to travel for business or leisure.
Preferences and requirements captured in notes, for example dietary requirements, allergies, or a preferred room type.
Household context, for example a guest who usually travels with children or a pet.
The summary is deliberately short. It is a starting point for a conversation, not a replacement for the full profile: the reservations, notes, and tags it is based on are all still on the Master Profile below the card.
Where to find it
There is nothing to switch on. Open a guest's Master Profile and the Guest insights card sits at the top of the Overview tab. To open a Master Profile, see Master Profile.
The first time you open a profile, the summary is written on the spot and the card shows a Generating guest insight... indicator for a moment. It is then kept for 24 hours, so switching tabs or coming back to the same guest later that day is instant.
How guest privacy is protected
The summary describes a guest in general terms and leaves out the identifying detail:
No names, exact dates, or amounts. The summary phrases things as patterns, for example "returns most springs" rather than a list of dates and totals. The exact figures stay on the profile, where your team can read them.
Every summary is checked before it is shown. Each one passes an automated privacy check for personal data. If the check rejects a summary, nothing is shown on the card rather than an unchecked summary.
What you can do with it
Get up to speed on a returning guest before check-in. Read the card for room preferences and allergies instead of the full note history.
Prepare for a VIP arrival. Get a one-glance picture of how the guest travels and what they tend to ask for.
Give context to a reply. Check the card before answering a guest in the Unified Inbox or reaching out from a campaign.
What this does not do
It needs a clustered Master Profile. A guest whose Profiles have not been clustered into a Master Profile shows No insights available yet. Clustering depends on the quality of name, email, and phone data. See Master Profile.
It refreshes at most once every 24 hours. A note or reservation added today can take up to a day to appear in the summary.
There is no manual refresh. The card cannot be regenerated on demand yet. If a summary fails to generate, open the profile again later.
It is AI-generated, so it can be wrong. A disclaimer sits under the summary for this reason. Check anything that affects service, such as an allergy, against the note it came from before acting on it.
Common questions
Why does one guest have a summary and another says "No insights available yet"?
Summaries are only written for guests with a clustered Master Profile. The most common reason a guest has none is missing or inconsistent contact details, which stops their Profiles from clustering.
I have just added a note to a guest. Why is it not in the summary?
The summary is kept for 24 hours before it is written again, so a very recent note or reservation can take up to a day to be reflected.
Why are there no names, dates, or amounts in the summary?
They are left out on purpose, so the card can be read at a glance without exposing personal detail. The underlying reservations, notes, and tags are on the profile.
