Introduction
You can analyse your reservations and guests in Bookboost Insights across a defined set of fields, with no extra setup. Knowing which fields are available up front saves time when you build a workbook or ask the Insights Agent a question. This article lists the reservation and guest fields available in the Reservations and Guests topics, what is not available today, and how common terms such as market segment, booking source, and demographic data map to the actual fields.
Reservation fields (Reservations topic)
The following reservation fields are available to filter, group, and measure in the Reservations topic.
Field | What it holds |
Market segment classification
Market category classification
Booking source or channel category
Distribution channel segment
Rate plan details
Reservation status (for example confirmed, checked-in, checked-out)
Whether the reservation was cancelled
Check-in and check-out dates
Arrival and departure timestamps
Number of nights
Guest counts on the reservation
Revenue, tax, and currency
Outstanding balance
Time between booking and check-in
External booking reference
Booking agency name
When the reservation was created, in Bookboost and in the PMS
Property and organisation scoping
OTA versus Direct flag | Whether the booking came through an OTA or direct |
Company and travel agency data | Company name, type, and contact email, through the linked companies record |
The following reservation fields are not confirmed for every PMS integration, so confirm availability for the specific PMS before relying on them: purpose (purpose of stay), transport_method (guest transport method), and number_of_units (number of rooms booked).
Guest fields (Guests topic)
The Guests topic is a dedicated set of guest profile fields. Access is scoped by organisation, like every other Insights topic.

Master Profiles:
Guests can be grouped into a Master Profile for deduplication and cross profile analysis.
You can also analyse reservations by guest and loyalty attributes directly in the Reservations topic, for example revenue by guest country or by loyalty status, programme, or level. For more on this, see Guest and loyalty data in Bookboost Insights.
How common terms map to fields
Customers often ask for a field by a name that differs from the Bookboost field. The most common mappings:
Market segment: available as
market_segmentandmarket_categoryin the Reservations topic.Booking source or channel: available as
channel_categoryandchannel_segment, plus the OTA versus Direct flag.Demographic data:
gender,nationality,birth_date,language, andcountry, all in the Guests topic.
A guest classification scheme that is specific to a property and not part of the standard Bookboost data model is not available as a dedicated field. Where a property needs this, an unused supported field from the lists above can be mapped to carry that data so it becomes queryable. Contact Bookboost Support to arrange this.
What is not available in Bookboost Insights
The following are not exposed in the Insights topics today:
Custom PMS fields and non standard PMS attributes that are not part of the standard Bookboost data model
Room type and room number, which are not exposed as dedicated fields in the current data model
Folio and charge line item detail
Pre-arrival form responses, which are stored separately and are not surfaced in the Insights topics today
Field availability and your PMS
Which fields carry data depends on your PMS integration and what your PMS actually sends to Bookboost. If a field appears empty, check whether your PMS populates it before assuming the field is unavailable.
Configuration and Setup
No setup is required. The reservation and guest fields are available in the Reservations and Guests topics by default, subject to your PMS integration sending the underlying data.
