Master Profiles in Bookboost Insights

Bookboost Insights aggregates guest data at the Master Profile level, so reports and dashboards show one deduplicated view per guest instead of counting duplicate profiles separately.

Bookboost Insights reports and dashboards aggregate guest data at the Master Profile level. Because a guest's duplicate profiles are clustered into a single Master Profile, your numbers reflect the real guest count across stays and channels rather than inflated duplicate records. For what a Master Profile is and how profiles are clustered, see Master Profile: Unified Guest Profile Management.

Before you start

  • You have Bookboost Insights. Master Profile reporting is part of Bookboost Insights, our analytics add-on. See What is Bookboost Insights?

  • Master Profiles need no setup. Master Profiles are enabled by default for all Bookboost customers and cluster automatically in the background — there is nothing to switch on.

How it works

  • Profiles are clustered into a Master Profile. Bookboost groups a guest's individual profiles using frequency-based matching across name, email, and phone, producing a single Master Profile per guest.

  • Master Profiles are indexed into Insights. Each Master Profile is made available in Bookboost Insights, so reports and dashboards can aggregate a guest's data at the Master Profile level.

  • Data refreshes daily. A scheduled daily pipeline keeps Master Profile data current in Insights.

What you can do with it

  • See a guest's full history in one place. View total stay history and spend across all of a guest's linked profiles.

  • Deduplicate reporting. Guest segments in dashboards count a repeat guest once, not several times.

  • Analyse repeat guests. Report on repeat guest behaviour at the Master Profile level.

Known limitations

  • Matching depends on data quality. Clustering relies on name, email, and phone. Profiles with missing contact information may not cluster correctly and can remain separate.

Common questions

How does Bookboost decide which profiles belong to the same guest?

It uses frequency-based matching across name, email, and phone to cluster a guest's profiles into one Master Profile. See Master Profile: Unified Guest Profile Management.

How often is the data updated?

A scheduled daily pipeline refreshes Master Profile data in Insights.

Some of a guest's profiles aren't grouped together. Why?

The most common reason is missing or inconsistent contact details.
