Setting your brand colours

Set your seven brand colours once so your guest app uses them and they appear as a ready-made palette in every colour picker in the email builder.

Set your brand colours once and they follow you. Your guest app uses them, and they show up as a ready-made palette in every colour picker in the email builder, so nobody on your team needs a list of hex codes to hand.

Before you start

  • You are an admin. Other operators cannot open or edit the Brand Library.

  • You know whether you are setting colours for your Default kit or for one property. See Setting up your Brand Library if you are not sure which to edit.

  • You have your brand hex values to hand.

How to change your colours

  1. Click Settings in the left menu, then Brand library.

  2. Choose the kit you want to edit.

  3. Open Colors.

Open Colors from the panel on the left

  4. Click the colour you want to change.

Click the colour you want to change

  5. Enter your hex value, or pick a shade.

Your changes save automatically. There is no Save button to press.

What each colour does

The palette holds seven named colours. Each has a job, and the name tells you where it is used.

  • Brand, your primary brand colour.

  • Accent, secondary highlights.

  • Button text, text sitting on top of a button.

  • Header text, headings.

  • Paragraph, body text.

  • Success, confirmation messages.

  • Error, error and warning messages.

Because each colour has a defined job, changing Brand updates every place your guest app uses your primary colour, rather than one block at a time.

Starting from a colour package

If you want a coordinated set rather than choosing each value yourself, use the pre-built colour packages below the palette. Filter them by Cool, Warm, or Neutral.

Using your colours in email campaigns

Once saved, your seven colours appear as a Brand colors group in every colour picker in the email builder, whether you are styling text, a background, a button, or a border. The group is selected by default, so your palette is the first thing you see.

If a property does not have its own colours set, Bookboost falls back to your organisation's Default kit, so the palette is never empty. For more on using brand colours and images in a campaign, see Use your brand colors and assets in the email builder.

Known limitations

  • Seven colours, and the palette cannot be extended today. If you need more, tell us, as we are tracking demand for it.

  • The email builder reads your palette when you open it. If someone changes a colour while you have a campaign open, close the editor and reopen it to pick up the change.

Common questions

Can I add an eighth colour?
Not today. The palette holds the seven named colours listed above.

I changed a colour but my campaign still shows the old one. Why?
The email builder reads your palette from the moment you opened it. Close the editor and reopen it, and the new colour will be there.

Do I have to set colours for every property?
No. Set them on your Default kit and each property inherits from it. Give a property its own colours only when it needs to differ.

Do these colours apply to my guest app as well as campaigns?
Yes. Colours are the one part of the Brand Library that reaches both.

Do I need to save?
No. Changes to the Brand Library save automatically as you make them.
