Every hotel that sends a campaign or publishes a guest app ends up making the same small decisions over and over: which typeface, which shade of the brand colour, which version of the lobby photo. Your Brand Library holds those decisions in one place. Set them once and Bookboost applies them wherever they are relevant, so nobody on your team needs a list of hex codes to hand.
If you run more than one property, this matters more. Each property gets its own brand kit, so a single campaign can carry each guest's own hotel's colours and images.
What the Brand Library controls
The Brand Library has three sections, and they do not all reach the same places.
Section | What it sets | Where it applies |
Fonts | The typeface for headings, paragraphs, and buttons | Your guest app |
Colors | Seven named brand colours | Your guest app, and every colour picker in the email builder |
Custom assets | Named, reusable images and videos | Your guest app, and the image picker in the email builder |
The one thing worth knowing up front: your brand colours reach email campaigns, but your brand fonts do not. Text styling in a campaign is set in the email builder itself, on the block you are editing.
Default kit and property brand kits
When you open the Brand Library you see a set of cards. The first is your Default kit. After that there is one Brand kit card per property, named after the property.
The two levels work together:
The Default kit is your fallback. If a property's own kit has not been set up, Bookboost uses the Default kit, so your colours and assets are never empty.
A property brand kit overrides the Default for that property only.
For custom assets, set the asset up in the Default kit first and then give each property its own file under the same name. That is what lets one campaign show each guest the right picture for the hotel they are actually staying at.
Before you start
You are an admin. Other operators cannot open or edit the Brand Library.
You know which properties need their own fonts, colours, or images, and which can inherit from the Default kit.
You have your font files and images to hand if you plan to upload your own.
How to set this up?
Click Settings in the left menu.
Click Brand library.
Choose the kit you want to edit. Start with Default if you are setting things up for the first time.
Pick Fonts, Colors, or Custom assets from the panel on the left.
Your changes save automatically. There is no Save button to press, and no draft state to publish.
Setting your fonts
Fonts are grouped as three global text styles: Headings, Paragraphs, and Buttons. Each one applies everywhere that style is used in your guest app, so changing Headings changes every heading at once.
Open Fonts.
Click the style you want to change.
Choose a Font family. The list is searchable, so type the first few letters rather than scrolling.
Choose a Style, for example Regular or Bold.
You set the family and the style. Size and weight are handled by the guest app's design so that pages stay readable on a phone, so those are not yours to change.
If you would rather not pick three typefaces yourself, scroll down to the pre-built font packages and pick one. You can filter them by Serif or Sans-serif.
To use your own brand typeface instead, click Add fonts and attach the font file from your computer. Accepted font formats are .ttf and .otf, up to 2 MB per file.
Setting your colours
The palette holds seven named colours. Each has a job, and the name tells you where it is used.
Brand, your primary brand colour.
Accent, secondary highlights.
Button text, text sitting on top of a button.
Header text, headings.
Paragraph, body text.
Success, confirmation messages.
Error, error and warning messages.
There are pre-built colour packages below the palette if you want a coordinated set rather than choosing each value. Filter them by Cool, Warm, or Neutral.
Once saved, these seven colours appear as a Brand colors group in every colour picker in the email builder, selected by default. For more on using them in a campaign, see Use your brand colors and assets in the email builder.
Creating a custom asset
A custom asset is a named slot for a picture or a video. You create the name once, then each property fills that name with its own file. A slot called lobby holds a different photograph for each hotel, and your guest app shows the right one automatically.
Open Custom assets in your Default kit.
Click Add custom asset.
Type a name that describes what the slot is for, such as
hero_imageorlobby. Use lowercase letters. Capitals are not accepted, and a space is converted to an underscore when you save.Choose Image or Video.
Click Create.
Upload the file for this slot. To change it later, click Replace.
Then repeat the upload step for each property: open that property's brand kit, find the same named asset, and upload the property's own file.
Keep the names short and descriptive. The same name has to make sense to whoever is building a campaign months from now, and it must match across every property for the right file to be picked up.
Known limitations
Brand fonts do not reach email campaigns. They apply to your guest app. Campaign text styling is set in the email builder.
Seven colours, and the palette cannot be extended today. If you need more, tell us, as we are tracking demand for it.
Video assets are for guest app pages. The email builder's asset picker offers images only, so a video slot will not appear there.
Names are normalised on save. Capitals are rejected and spaces become underscores, so
Hero Imageis not what you will end up with. The email builder reads your Brand Library when you open it. If someone adds a colour or an asset while you have a campaign open, close the editor and reopen it to see the new item.
Common questions
Do I have to set up every property separately?
No. Set up the Default kit and every property inherits from it. Give a property its own kit only when it needs to differ.
Which kit should I edit first?
The Default kit. For custom assets in particular, create the named slot there before adding property-specific files, because the name is what links them together.
Who on my team can change this?
Admins only. Other operators will not be able to edit the Brand Library.
Can I add an eighth colour?
Not today. The palette holds the seven named colours listed above.
Will my brand typeface show up in my email campaigns?
No. Brand fonts apply to your guest app. In a campaign you set text styling in the email builder.
I named an asset "Hero Image" and it saved as something else. Why?
Asset names do not accept capitals, and spaces are converted to underscores. Name new assets in lowercase to avoid surprises.
Do I need to publish anything after making a change?
Changes to the Brand Library save automatically as you make them.
UNVERIFIED, resolve before publishing: Whether a published guest app picks up Brand Library changes immediately or needs republishing. Confirm with Product and answer this question directly.
