Getting started with the Insights Agent

What the Insights Agent is, what you can ask it, and how it differs from the AI Agent in the Unified Inbox.

The Insights Agent is a natural-language analytics tool. You ask a question in plain English and get an answer back as a chart or table.

It runs queries against the same data that powers your dashboards — reservations, marketing, and inbox combined — and builds visualisations on the fly. Any chart it produces can be saved as a tile on a dashboard. It understands hospitality terminology directly: ADR, ALOS, OTA, journey, broadcast, segment.

Insights Agent vs the AI Agent in the Unified Inbox

Bookboost has two products with similar names:

  • The Insights Agent (this one) is the natural-language analytics tool. It answers business questions about your data in Bookboost Insights.

  • The AI Agent in the Unified Inbox is a separate product that handles guest conversations.

They are two separate products.

What you can ask

  • "What was attributed revenue from broadcast campaigns last quarter?"

  • "Compare ADR by channel between Q1 and Q2 this year."

  • "Show me bookings by segment for the Berlin property in May."

  • "Response time by operator in the Unified Inbox over the last 30 days."

What you cannot ask

  • Anything outside your Bookboost data. It cannot access your RMS data or external sources.

  • Free-form opinion ("is this good?"). It reports numbers; it does not interpret them.

  • Predictions. It reports what has happened, not what will happen.

Tip

When iterating on a custom dashboard, open the Insights Agent from inside the workbook rather than the main Agent screen. It then has the context of the dashboard you are working on.
