D3X puts an AI agent in front of your Unified Inbox. It reads incoming guest messages, answers the routine ones itself, and hands anything it cannot resolve to an Operator in the same thread, with the full history intact. Nobody has to re-read the conversation to pick it up.
It is available through the Bookboost Marketplace.
What it handles
Routine questions. Check-in times, amenities, directions, and the rest of what gets asked repeatedly before and during a stay.
Every channel in one place. WhatsApp, email, Facebook Messenger, SMS, and web messenger all arrive in the Unified Inbox as usual.
Escalation to a person. Unresolved conversations go to the unassigned queue of the team they came from.
A knowledge base that maintains itself. D3X scrapes your website and can pull in your own documentation, so the answers stay current without anyone re-entering them.
Upsell requests, on Mews only. Room upgrades, late check-out, and breakfast add-ons written back to the folio. See the restriction below before planning around this.
The Mews restriction, up front
Everything above except the last point works regardless of your PMS. Taking actions on the guest folio requires Mews, and it uses a separate D3X to Mews direct API connection that is not part of the standard Bookboost to Mews integration.
That connection has to be configured during D3X onboarding, and it is independent of the Bookboost to Mews integration, which must also be active for the full setup. Confirm with your Mews and D3X contacts whether folio actions are in scope for your property before you count on them.
Setting it up
Confirm eligibility with D3X. They are generally available to hotels in DACH, BENELUX, and the UK.
Activate the integration from the Bookboost Marketplace.
Choose your channels. Decide which of WhatsApp, email, SMS, web messenger, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, Instagram, and Line route through the integration.
Build the knowledge base. D3X scrapes your website automatically. Add your operational and process documentation through the API hook, and review the gaps D3X flags during onboarding.
Agree the escalation rules. Decide when the agent hands off. Escalated conversations return to the unassigned queue of the originating team.
Run a pilot before full go-live, watching auto-resolution rates and tightening the knowledge base as you go.
Setup and pilot together take a couple of months in most cases. D3X will give you the timeline for your property during onboarding.
What this does not do
Folio actions need Mews. Upsells, late check-out approvals, and breakfast bookings are unavailable on any other PMS, and need the separate D3X to Mews connection even on Mews.
No outbound campaigns through D3X. Sending campaigns via D3X using Bookboost WhatsApp numbers is not supported. Run outbound messaging from Bookboost campaigns instead.
No alert when the agent gets stuck. There is no automated notification on escalation, so somebody has to watch the unassigned queue.
Regional availability. D3X is generally available in DACH, BENELUX, and the UK. Ask them directly about anywhere else.
What to do next
Because escalated conversations land in the unassigned queue, it is worth reviewing how your teams are set up first. See Teams in Unified Inbox and Inbox notifications.
