Which route you take depends on one thing: whether you can currently log in. If you can, change it on your own profile in under a minute. If you cannot, use the reset link on the login page. Bookboost staff cannot see your password, so there is nothing to look up on our side.
If your organisation signs you in through another system, such as your PMS or a single sign-on provider, your password is held there rather than in Bookboost, and none of the steps below apply. Change it in that system.
Changing it while logged in
Go to Settings > Operators and open your own profile.
Find the Password and Confirm password fields.
Type the new password into both.
Select Save changes.
You do not need your current password to set a new one, as long as you are already logged in.
The two fields must match. If they do not, the change will not save and you will see an error rather than a silent failure.
Resetting it when you cannot log in
Go to app.bookboost.io.
Select Forgot password? below the login fields.
Enter the email address on your Bookboost account and select Send reset link.
Open the email from Bookboost. Check your spam or junk folder if it has not arrived within a few minutes.
Follow the link, set a new password, and confirm it.
The reset link expires. If it no longer works, request a new one rather than trying the same link again.
If neither works
Support can reset it for you, but only when we can verify who is asking. Email support@bookboost.io from either:
the operator's own registered email address, or
an authorised admin address for your organisation.
Include the email address you are trying to log in with, and a screenshot of the error if you have one. Requests from anyone else cannot be accepted, which is deliberate: your Bookboost account holds your guests' personal data.
What this does not do
Nobody at Bookboost can read your password. It is stored so that it cannot be retrieved, only replaced. If it is lost, it is reset rather than looked up.
A password reset does not fix a locked organisation. If several colleagues cannot log in at the same time, the cause is not passwords. See Why can't I log in?
You cannot reset it without access to your email. If the address on your account no longer reaches you, support has to change the address first.
Changing your password does not sign out your other sessions automatically. If you are worried the password was seen by someone else, say so when you contact support.
What to do next
If the reset works but you still cannot get in, the problem is somewhere else. See Why can't I log in? for the other two causes.
