Merging combines two guest profiles into one, bringing their reservation history, conversations, and data together under a single record.
It cannot be undone. There is no unmerge, no undo, and no support request that separates them again. Check both profiles properly before you confirm.
When you need it
Bookboost already links records that clearly belong to the same guest, automatically and without destroying anything. See Master Profile.
Manual merging is for what that misses: the same person booking as "Rob" and "Robert" with two different email addresses and no shared phone number, where nothing matched confidently enough to link them.
Merging two profiles
Go to Profiles > Guests.
Find the first profile, using search or filters.
Select the eye icon to open it.
Select the three dots in the top right of the profile.
Choose Merge.
In the search panel that opens, find and select the second profile.
Read both records once more, then confirm.
What to check before confirming
Is it definitely the same person? A shared surname and city is not enough. Two guests called J. Smith from London are two guests.
Do the reservation histories make sense together? Overlapping stays at different properties on the same night usually mean two people.
Do their consent records agree? If one has granted marketing consent and the other has revoked it, decide what the merged record should say before you merge, not after.
Which one is a company? A company profile and a guest profile should not be merged.
What this does not do
It cannot be reversed. The first bullet, repeated, because it is the only thing on this page that can go permanently wrong.
It does not stop new duplicates. If the guest books again through the channel that created the second record, a new one can appear. Merging is housekeeping, not a fix at source.
It does not merge more than two at a time. Three records means two merges, in sequence.
It does not clean up the underlying PMS. The duplicate may still exist there and keep syncing across.
What to do next
If you are seeing duplicates regularly, the cause is usually upstream rather than in Bookboost. Check whether the same guest is being created more than once in your PMS, and see Master Profile for what is being linked automatically before you start merging by hand.
