Custom tokens

Store your own values against a property, rate plan, space type, or space, and pull them into any campaign.

The standard tokens carry what your PMS knows about a booking. Custom tokens carry what only you know: your parking instructions, your Wi-Fi password, the fact that room 301 has a balcony. You write the value once per property, rate plan, space type, or space, and every campaign can pull it in.

Property tokens

Details that define a single hotel and rarely change.

  • Property phone number, for the front desk or reservations.

  • Property address, for directions and templates.

  • Legal name, for official communication.

  • Parking instructions, for example "Parking available on level B2, entrance via Pine Street".

  • Wi-Fi network and password.

  • Check-in and check-out times.

  • Pet policy, and any conditions attached to it.

  • Special amenities, such as a rooftop pool or spa.

Rate plan tokens

Terms and benefits that belong to a pricing model rather than to a room.

  • Cancellation policy, for example "Free cancellation up to 48 hours before check-in".

  • Rate plan description, for example "Non-refundable special offer with breakfast included".

  • Advantages, such as a free airport transfer or a dining discount.

  • Deposit information, where prepayment is required.

  • Seasonal offers, for example "Stay 3 nights, pay for 2".

  • Eligibility notes, such as a minimum two-night stay.

Space type tokens

Information shared by every room of a given category.

  • Descriptions, for example "Spacious King Room with ocean view and private balcony".

  • Indications, such as "Pet-friendly" or "Quiet zone near the garden".

  • Maximum occupancy, for example "Sleeps up to 4 guests, including children".

  • Available configurations, such as "1 King Bed or 2 Twin Beds".

  • Amenities, such as an in-room coffee machine or rainfall shower.

  • Accessibility features, such as a wheelchair-accessible bathroom or step-free entry.

  • View details, such as garden view or city skyline view.

Space tokens

Information about one specific room or unit.

  • Descriptions, for example "Room 301 includes a private balcony overlooking the pool".

  • Indications, such as "Non-smoking" or "Directly adjacent to the lift".

  • Room codes, for guests using a keypad to enter.

  • Room-specific amenities, such as a Jacuzzi tub.

  • Unique layouts, for example a split-level suite with an upstairs bedroom.

  • Assigned names, such as "Deluxe Honeymoon Suite".

  • Proximity notes, such as "Closest to the fitness centre".

Turning custom tokens on

Custom tokens are enabled per account. Email support@bookboost.io and we will switch them on for you.

Where to find them

To create them: go to Campaigns, where you will find the Custom Tokens section. From there you can create tokens for properties, rate plans, space types, and spaces.

The Custom Tokens section under Campaigns

To use them in a campaign: open the Tokens section in the editor, where all your other tokens live, and search for the one you want.

Finding a custom token in the Tokens list

What this does not do

  • Tokens do not cross properties. A token appears only in the property where it was created. If you have not added it to Property B, campaigns in Property B will not see it.

  • Values are plain text. HTML and markdown inside a custom token value are not rendered, and a custom token cannot supply a link destination. See Custom token values are plain text.
