Missing entries are medications that are listed as to be given on the atlas device for a scheduled time but were then not marked as given or not given.

Missing entries appear on the missing record tile on Atlas central after 48 hours from the scheduled time that was missed. They will stay on the dashboard tile and missing tab on the device for 28 days unless they are actioned. After 28 days the medication will no longer show in the missing records dashboard tile or on the missing tab on the device.
The MAR chart will then be marked with code X1 = missing entry (unspecified)

For all options listed below the residents timeline should also be updated to show that the missed medication was actioned as given, not given or unknown. It will show the date and time of the missed medication as well as the date and time the missed medication was actioned.

The missed medications can only be actioned via the atlas app on the device.

To action any missed medication log into the residents unit on the atlas app atlas and then select the "missing" tab on the home page.

Select the resident whose medication you wish to mark as given.

Marking a medication as given

If the medication was given, you can select the given option.

After selecting given, this medication will be highlighted in yellow. This means you have now actioned that medication and will be removed from the list once you have left the "missing" tab on the atlas app.

The MAR chart will be signed to say the medication was given. The staff member who actioned the missing medication will have their initials show on the MAR chart.

Marking a medication as not given

If the medication has not been given, select the "not given" tab.

This will provide you with a dropdown menu for you to select from, you can scroll down the list to say why the medication was not given.

After you have selected the reason select the "confirm" tab.

This will highlight the medication in yellow to show this missed medication has been actioned, and will be removed from the list once you have left the "missing" tab on the atlas app. This will also be removed from the dashboard tile on Atlas central.
The code that you selected will show on the MAR chart.

Marking a medication as unknown.

If you select the unknown tab the medication will highlight in yellow straight away, and will be removed from the list of missing medication.
This will show up on the MAR chart as code D16 = Unaccounted unknown reason
