Overview

This article explains how to enable overbooking in your booking engine settings. By default, the system restricts bookings to the exact number of available units to prevent overbooking. However, you may choose to allow overbooking to maximise your property's booking capacity during high-demand periods. This guide will help you adjust your settings to allow for overbooking, should you need more flexibility in managing room availability.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Access the Booking Engine Options

    • Navigate to Booking Engine → Settings → Options in your Extranet.

  2. Enable Overbooking

    • Scroll to the bottom of the Options page to find the "danger zone" section.

    • Click on “Limit the number of possible bookings to the number of rooms in the category”.

    • Select “No” to allow overbooking, enabling bookings to exceed the available room count.
