How to enable and disable web search by default

Prerequisite: This functionality is only available to workspace admins.

Introduction

The web search setting controls whether Sana includes public web results by default in new conversations. When enabled, users will automatically get answers that combine internal company data with public web sources. This setting can be changed at any time by a Workspace Admin.


How to enable and disable web search

  1. Navigate to the workspace settings.

  2. Navigate to the General tab inside of the workspace settings.

  3. Find Web search in the list and click the toggle to enable or disable it by default for new conversations

Q: Can users override this setting per conversation?

A: Yes. Users can toggle web search on or off within individual conversations regardless of the workspace default. This setting only controls the default for new conversations.

Q: Does changing this setting affect existing conversations?

A: No. Changing the workspace default applies to new conversations.
