Here is a step-by-step guide to using our digital tax refund application :
STEP 1 : DOWNLOADING
STEP 2 : ACCOUNT CREATION
We will ask you for an email and a password. Don't forget to validate your email by opening your inbox !
STEP 3 : ID CHECK
Please, send us all the information we need to confirm your identity through the SkipTax application. Usually we'll need a picture of your passport, a selfie and sometimes an additional proof of residence.
STEP 4 : START A NEW REFUND CLAIM
Start a new claim from the app. To do so, you must click on the blue "New claim" button on the HomePage .
STEP 5 : WHEN PURCHASING AN ITEM IN FRANCE, REQUEST AN INVOICE IN THE NAME OF SKIPTAX
Do your shopping and ask for invoices in the name of SkipTax at the shop.
This step is very important if you want to get your refund.
There is a button on the main page of the application to help you request an invoice in French ! An invoice is not a receipt.
DISNEYLAND PARIS and partners : we have a special agreement with Disneyland and a few other brands, so you don't need an invoice in the name fo SKIPTAX for all purchases made in the park or in stores located in Disney hotels and partnered brand.
STEP 6 : SEND YOUR INVOICES IN PHOTOS IN THE APPLICATION
Once you have obtained your invoices from the shops or online, you need to send them to us via the app by clicking on the refund request you have previously created.
STEP 7 : DONE SHOPPING ? GENERATE YOUR BARCODE
Once you have completed your purchases and scanned all your invoices into the app, you must generate the barcode to be scanned at a PABLO terminal.
You will also receive by email your tax-free form to print if you need to have it stamped by customs (printing is usually mandatory if you visit an other EU country than France before going back home)
STEP 8 : SCAN THE BARCODE OR HAVE THE FORM STAMPED
There are terminals called 'PABLO' which can automatically scan your barcode at most airports/railways.
If you are leaving the EU through a country other than France, or if your place of departure in France does not have PABLO machines, you must print the form and have it stamped by a customs officer.
STEP 9 : GET YOUR REFUND !
You're done! If you have successfully scanned the barcode, we will send you the refund as soon as possible, make sure you have added your refund method in the app.If you have had your tax-free form stamped, send us a photo on the app.
