My X’Weight remains stuck during initialization. What should I do?
This behavior may occur after a new compartment configuration has been created from the STS.
During initialization, the STM V5 may need approximately 8 seconds per scale to correctly load all configured scales.
What should I do?
Wait long enough for all scales to load.
Check whether the STM then becomes operational.
If the problem persists, restart the STM V5 to restart the initialization process.
Once initialization is complete, the X’Weight should normally be operational.
What is the lightest weight that can be detected by an X’Weight scale?
The minimum detectable weight depends on the type of shelf, which is defined by the number of scales installed on the shelf:
8-scale shelf: detection accuracy of 0.1 g — maximum load of 8 kg per platform
6-scale shelf: detection accuracy of 0.1 g — maximum load of 8 kg per platform
4-scale shelf: detection accuracy of 1 g — maximum load of 30 kg per platform
2-scale shelf: detection accuracy of 1 g — maximum load of 30 kg per platform
The designations 2, 4, 6 or 8 scales refer to the number of weighing zones on a shelf, not to the weight supported.
Example / recommendation:
It is not recommended to place a bin containing 40,000 very light washers on a scale designed for loads of up to 30 kg. The weight variation when a single washer is removed may be too small compared with the detection accuracy of the scale. The measured value may then constantly fluctuate, for example +1 g / -1 g / +1 g / -1 g, which may make item removal detection less reliable.
If I turn over a platform to create a double weighing zone, does the maximum permitted weight double?
No. Turning over a platform to create a double weighing zone does not double the maximum permitted load.
The maximum load remains the one specified for the platform concerned, even when it is used in a configuration allowing weighing on two zones.
For example, for a platform limited to 8 kg, the maximum load remains 8 kg and does not increase to 16 kg.
