Does STS upload the files to the SFTP server, and does the client software retrieve them?
STS uploads the files to the SFTP server. The retrieval, transfer and processing of these files are then entirely managed by the client software.
Which SFTP directory is used for file uploads?
Access is already configured for the correct directory. Two folders are available:
reports: for reports generated by STS;imports: for files to be imported into STS.
What is the exact expected file name, including the prefix, suffix, naming convention or timestamp?
The file name must begin with the prefix corresponding to the type of import:
STM user import:
stm-usersProduct import:
products
What file format is required: Excel, CSV, XML, etc.?
Files must be provided in Excel format. Other file formats are not supported.
Can you provide a sample file so that the mapping required to create orders in the client software can be configured?
Blank templates are available directly in STS. They can be used as sample files to configure the required mapping with the client software.
They can be downloaded from the FTP Import menu by clicking Download blank template.
You can also select and arrange the columns you wish to use.
Is technical documentation available describing the data structure and the different fields?
The expected data structure and fields are provided in the blank templates available directly in STS.
They can be downloaded from the FTP Import menu by clicking Download blank template.
You can also select and arrange the columns you wish to use.
What happens once the file has been retrieved by the client software? Is it deleted, archived or moved? If an action is required, which folder should it be moved to?
Once the file has been uploaded by STS, the client software can retrieve it and move or archive it in the directory of its choice using its own script.
This process is managed entirely by the client software. We have no control over how the file is handled once it has been uploaded.
If an error occurs, is an error file or report generated?
Yes. If an error occurs during an import, a summary file listing the detected issues is generated.
This file is either:
available through the STS notifications;
or uploaded to the SFTP server in a folder named
error.
How often does STS generate and upload files? Does the one-minute processing interval also apply to files intended for the client software?
A distinction must be made between imports and scheduled reports.
For imports, STS checks the SFTP server every minute for new incoming files.
For reports, the file is generated and uploaded to the SFTP server only at the time specified in the report schedule, for example every day at 7:00 a.m.
The client software must then use its own script to retrieve the file and move or archive it according to its own processes.
