6) Roadmap & Change Log (Founder Notes): Turn Updates into Expansion

Founder-framed updates turn “another feature” into “another reason to grow with us.”

Updated over a month ago

Turn monthly updates into measurable growth. Package “what shipped & why” in short founder notes and a structured change-log page - so customers see direction, enable features, and expand usage.

Who it’s for

  • Founders & Product leaders communicating updates

  • Customer Success & Account Management driving adoption/NRR

  • Product Marketing & Enablement packaging new capabilities

Why it matters

Founder-framed updates turn “another feature” into “another reason to grow with us.” Customers buy direction; renewals and expansions follow clarity. Show the vision behind each change and the fastest path to value.

How it works (TOF → MOF → BOF)

TOF (Monthly signal):

Publish 30–45s “what shipped & why” clips each month (or sprint). Hit: problem → change → outcome in one sentence. Post on LinkedIn/X/Shorts and in-product banners. Each links to the Change Log page.

MOF (On-site “Change Log” page):

A Replay page that includes:

  • Short video per item with before/after GIFs or screens

  • Chapters: What shipped → Why it matters → How to enable → Proof (early results)

  • Transcript + searchable timeline across all updates

  • Filters: Role (Admin/User), Area (Security, Analytics, UX), Impact level

  • Artifacts: docs, templates, sample configs

BOF (Adoption & expansion):

Primary CTAs: “Enable on your account” (deep link/toggle) · “See it on your data.”
Secondary: “Book a 15-min enablement check” · “Invite your team.”

KPIs: Adoption clicks · Feature activation rate · Expansion opportunities created · NRR · Time-to-enable

Automation tips: Clicked “Enable”/“See on my data” → notify CSM and open an expansion play with a 30-day success plan; repeat views of the same update → send quick start checklist; exec-domain view of “Why it matters” → route to AE with talking points.

Show momentum. Momentum retains and expands.
