Note: this Guide uses the NSOC category as an example, however, the same process applies to all audit categories
1. A Follow-on audit is not a full audit, but a mini-audit which follows on from a full audit. It rechecks the elements that failed in the full audit, as a way of recording whether rectifications have been carried out. It does not recheck the elements that passed in the full audit.
To create a Follow-on audit, start by going to your Manage Audits page:
2. On your Manage Audits page, click Closed Audits here:
On the next screen, find the Functional Area where you want to create a Follow-on audit. Tip: it may be easier to narrow down the list of areas you see, using the location filters near the top of the screen:
When you have found the Functional Area you want, click on the number that is against it in the right-hand column. This is the number of completed audits on that area.
3. The next screen lists the completed audits for the Functional Area you have chosen. These are grouped by audit type, e.g. Technical, Managerial etc. Tip: you can hide any of these groups you don’t need to see, by clicking Hide here:
Once you have found the precise audit you want to create a Follow-on to, click on the name of the Functional Area in the left-hand column.
4. On the next screen, scroll down to the bottom and click
.
A box will appear where you have the option to assign the Follow-on audit to a different Team (person), although by default it is assigned to the same Team as the original full audit. When you are happy with the Team it is assigned to, click Submit.
5. The Follow-on audit is now live, and will appear on the mobile app when the Team it’s assigned to is logged in. It can now be completed in the same way as any other audit. Remember that the only rooms that will appear in the app are the ones where elements failed in the original full audit, and those failing elements will be the only elements that appear this time round. You will be able to either pass them, record the same fail again if the issue has not been rectified, or even record a different fail, whichever is appropriate.
6. A completed Follow-on audit does not change the score of the original full audit. Rather, a second score is recorded alongside the original score. This can be seen on both the Score Sheet and the Failure Report:
This Follow-on score is calculated from all the audited elements – both those that were audited only once (because they passed first time round), and those that were audited twice (because they failed first time round and were rechecked in the Follow-on). The Follow on-score is the percentage of elements that passed in either the original audit or the Follow-on. If every element passed in one of them, the Follow-on score will be 100%.
