Micad Audit Release Notes, version 4.2.2.1063

There are a number of new features in this release, as indicated below. There are also a number of bug fixes.

1. Unscored elements

It’s now possible to choose which elements in audits are scored and which are unscored.

This has been developed with the Efficacy audits in mind (National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness), where the last 3 questions are intended to be ‘Unscored Observations’. However, the development has other potential uses. For instance, it’s now possible to set up whole categories of audit which are intended to record observations rather than to generate scores. If you’d like to explore how this could work, please talk to us.

Note that unscored elements:

  • Still either pass or fail

  • If they fail, still generate actions

If you don’t want them to generate actions, then use the answer Yes and enter a Yes Comment if you wish (in the mobile app, long-pressing the Yes answer opens a comment box).

To switch elements from scored to unscored and vice versa, go to your Configure category menu (Efficacy is used here as an example):

Then select

.

On the next screen, click on the number of elements in the relevant template:

On the next screen, you will find a new column headed Scored. To make an element unscored, simply untick the box in this column:

All audits created using this template will now treat the unticked elements as unscored. If, later, you want to score them, just re-tick the box.

On the score sheet, scored and unscored elements are now distinguished in the following ways:

  • An additional row where each element is marked S for Scored or U for Unscored:

  • The total Questions Passed and Answered give separate figures for Scored and Unscored:

In this example, 42 scored elements were audited, 32 of which passed; and 4 unscored elements were audited, 2 of which passed.

The Overall Score is derived from the scored elements only, i.e. 32 as a percentage of 42 = 76.19%.

  • Likewise, the individual Responsibility Group scores are derived from scored elements only:

On other reports, Unscored elements have made the following differences:

  • The audit failures list now has a column to indicate if an element was unscored; if it was, a ‘u’ appears in the column:

  • The Audit area question vs. element report now has a new row like the score sheet’s:

  • The multi-audit failure reports (both with and without photos) have a new column like the single audit failures list:

  • Both scored and unscored elements are included in the former Low scoring elements report. For this reason, the name of the report has changed to ‘Element failure rate report’ – because it now includes elements that are unscored as well as low scoring.

The report indicates which elements were unscored here:

2. More Data Export options

These can be found by clicking Show at the top of the Closed audits page:

3. New About page

This can be found by hovering the mouse arrow over your name:

The new page contains links to the support page and to a copy of these release notes.

4. Yes Comments and All Comments reports distinguished

Linking from the score sheet, both Yes Comments and All Comments reports are now available:

5. Automatic user logout

Users are now automatically logged out at the midnight next after they login. This has particular relevance to Stakeholders, who often remain logged in unintentionally and add to the number of logged in users, sometimes taking this number near the licence limit.
