Product photos help clients see exactly what they are buying. Besides the main product photo (for example, of an album, prints, or a framed photo), you can add up to 10 additional photos that show it from other sides — for example, the inside of an album, the spine of a cover, or the box.
Where to find this option
You need a product that already exists. If you are creating a new product, save it first with the Save button — you will be moved to the editing page for that product, where you can add additional photos below the form.
In the menu on the left, click Settings.
In the Settings menu, under Photo sessions, click Products.
Find your product in the list and click Edit (or click its thumbnail).
Scroll down, below the product form. You will see the Additional photos card there.
The Additional photos card has a counter on the right (for example, "0 / 10 photos") that shows how many additional photos the product already has, and an Add photos button.
Important: these are two separate ways of saving. You save the product form (name, price, description, main photo) with the Save button. The Additional photos card saves every change immediately — every photo you add, move, or delete. It has no save button, and it does not need one.
How to add photos
Click the Add photos button. A window opens showing how many more photos you can add (10 per product at most).
Click Choose files and select photos on your computer, or drag files from a folder and drop them into the window.
Wait for the photos to upload. A green progress bar shows how many photos have been added so far (for example, "4 of 5 photos added"). Do not close the window before the upload finishes.
When everything has uploaded, you will see the message "Photos added!". Click OK to close the window.
Your photos will appear in a grid on the card, in the order you selected them, and the counter will go up (for example, to "4 / 10 photos").
Tip: in the file selection window, you can select several photos at once by holding Ctrl (Windows) or Cmd (Mac) while clicking, or by selecting them with your mouse.
How to change the order of photos
The client sees the main photo first, then the additional photos from left to right, row by row, in the order they appear in the grid. Put your best photos first. Each photo has two options: a drag handle (an icon with four arrows ✥) in the top-right corner, and a red Delete button below it.
Press and hold the drag handle (✥) of the photo you want to move, drag it to the new position, and release it. The other photos will move to make room.
How to delete a photo
Click the red Delete button under the photo you want to remove.
Mafelo will ask: "Are you sure you want to delete this photo?". Click Yes to delete it, or Cancel to keep it.
You will see the message "Photo deleted". The photo will disappear from the grid, the other photos will close the gap, and the counter will go down.
Deleting cannot be undone. If you delete a photo by mistake, upload it again. The Delete button on this card only removes additional photos — to change or remove the main photo, use the Product picture field in the form above and click Save.
Tips and best practice
Choose a strong main photo — the client sees it first, and it is also the thumbnail on your product list under Settings → Products.
Tell a story through the order of your photos — for example, for an album: cover → open spread → detail → packaging.
Use photos with similar light and background so the product looks professional.
Do not upload the main photo again as an additional photo — the client would see it twice.
Troubleshooting
I see the message "…must be a JPG, PNG, or GIF file"
You chose a format that Mafelo does not support (for example, HEIC from an iPhone, WEBP, TIFF, PDF, or a RAW file). Convert the photo to JPG and upload it again.
Not all of my photos were added
If you selected more photos than there was space for, only the ones that fit were added. Check the upload summary, for example "Added X of Y…".
Why can't I click Add photos?
The product already has 10 additional photos. Delete one to make room.
