Pre check-out & check-out

Updated this week

When you end your tenancy, you will go through two inspection moments:
first a pre-check-out inspection and then the final check-out.

1. Pre-check-out Inspection

Have you given notice? Our inspectors will contact you to schedule a pre-check-out appointment. This usually takes place about two weeks before the end date of your tenancy agreement.

  • You will receive an email to book your pre-check-out appointment.

  • Didn’t receive the email? Please check your spam or junk folder first.

  • During this pre-check-out, a LIV Residential staff member will walk through the property with you to assess its current condition.

  • You will receive advice on any repairs or tasks you can complete before the final check-out (e.g., filling nail holes, cleaning).

2. Final Check-out

Have you given notice? Our inspectors will contact you to schedule your final check-out appointment. This also takes place around two weeks before the end date of your tenancy agreement.

  • Again, if you do not see the email, please check your spam folder.

  • During the final check-out, the end inspection is carried out and you hand in all keys and access passes.

  • Any damages or missing items will be recorded and, if necessary, deducted from your deposit.

  • The check-out is completed when all keys are returned and both you and the inspector sign the inspection form. After the check-out, you will receive a copy of the inspection report by email.

Preparing for Your Check-out

  • Please ensure the property is handed back clean and empty, meaning all personal belongings and bulky waste must be removed.

  • All keys and access passes must be present.

  • If possible, repair small issues that are your responsibility, such as:

  1. Property empty, clean, and in original condition

  2. All walls white and suitable for wallpapering

  3. Any self-installed fixtures removed

  4. Flooring removed unless otherwise agreed in writing

  5. Garden/balcony empty, weed-free, and without extra items

  6. All sanitary items, kitchen, and appliances descaled and cleaned

  7. Windows, doors, and frames clean and undamaged

  8. All keys and passes handed in completely

3. Final Statement & Deposit

You will receive the final statement approximately 4 weeks after returning the keys.

The deposit will be refunded after deducting any necessary costs.
