Flourish Pulse ensures that the employee survey is conducted continuously throughout the year in an efficient manner. Additionally, as a leader, you gain access to statistics and trends that allow you to become more data-driven in your leadership.
In addition to pulse surveys, there are also other chat distributions, which we call Focus Areas. These are primarily created for individual leaders to promote engagement, presence, and a thriving feedback culture within their team. Essentially, this is achieved by asking relevant questions and inviting employees to provide feedback in a way that allows many more to participate, with the security of anonymity. This tends to strengthen daily dialogue and engagement within the team, even outside of Flourish as a digital and anonymous channel.
Creating sustainable monthly routines is an important part of keeping the work dynamic. As a leader, you can best achieve this by prioritizing and establishing clear focus, as well as continuously inviting and engaging your team.
Communicate the expectations you have for the team and the expectations they can have of you
Communicate the expectations you have for the team and the expectations they can have of you
Inform your team members about what you expect from them. For example, you may want a certain level of response in pulse surveys, as well as the level of engagement you expect in providing feedback on various issues.
When employees know what expectations you have as a leader, it is also important to convey what they can expect in return and the positive effects this can create for the company, the team, and the individual.
Follow up with your team to keep flourishing
Follow up with your team to keep flourishing
Ensure that you provide feedback to the team regarding your reflections and any actions you have taken or plan to take. For certain issues, it may be important to discuss them with someone, such as a colleague in a similar role or HR. Seek out sounding boards who can support you with analysis and potential actions when needed.
Flourish Pulse is based on a monthly frequency, with four questions per session. This allows you to easily follow up on the results and select a point to prioritize a bit more, and then follow up on this with the team; any actions and insights.
If you notice that time is limited and your ability to provide qualitative feedback to the team is compromised, be transparent about it. When you share the conditions and challenges you currently face, it becomes easier for the team to support you through understanding and collaboration. If this is the case, you might reduce the frequency of feedback collection questions and instead focus on the monthly pulse surveys and ensuring employee participation in these.
PS! The Team Dashboard is available as a tool for you and your team.
Flourish is a tool for proactive dialogue
Flourish is a tool for proactive dialogue
As a leader, you don’t always have to have all the answers—quite the opposite. See Flourish as a basis for daily dialogue with your team, and track trend development in your prioritized issues.
With Flourish Pulse, you get a monthly snapshot of various issues that you can use in your daily leadership. By becoming data-driven and gaining access to trend developments, you can more easily see where your time can be most beneficial for the team and the impact of your efforts over time. At Flourish, we often recommend selecting a few key areas to focus on to avoid spreading yourself too thin.
"More focus on fewer topics" is a mantra we try to support with our tool. When you work more focused on a few selected points, it becomes clearer to your team, which in the end can create positive ripple effects in other areas as well.
Focus Areas is your way to systematically and inclusively gather feedback on issues you consider to be extra prioritized.
There are a few common ways to use these in your work as a leader:
Schedule a selected Focus Area before, for example, a weekly meeting or workshop with the team. This gives you feedback and improvement suggestions to work with from the start. Everyone thus has the same opportunity to participate and have their say. IT also helps avoid certain ideas being overlooked due to different conditions, personalities, and perspectives.
Select one or a few Focus Areas to work with repeatedly over the year. This provides a clear thread of what you prioritize and aim to drive within your team. Ideally, choose these focus areas based on the team’s preferences.
Based on the monthly pulse surveys, choose a Focus Area to delve deeper into a subject you want more data and insights on. You can do this by clicking "Take Action" when viewing the results of the pulse surveys. This will give you suggestions for Focus Areas that delve into various aspects of the topic and gather feedback on it.
Responding to incoming feedback
Responding to incoming feedback
Feedback submitted through the Flourish Chatbot is always anonymized.
When you receive anonymous feedback from someone on your team, always try to respond to it. By offering a friendly reply, you confirm to your team that their feedback has been read and, ideally, appreciated.
By showing appreciation and acknowledging the received feedback, you can increase your team's trust in you as a leader. This can lead to greater employee engagement and a higher likelihood of giving and receiving feedback. It can also encourage employees to bring up sensitive issues earlier, providing you with better opportunities to offer support and potentially prevent unwanted situations.
A good guideline for handling incoming feedback is the concept of "interpreting kindly." This approach helps you provide the most constructive and engaging responses to the feedback you receive.
