Duplicate vs. copy to... functions
Use this option if you want to use an existing processing activity as a template, for example, but need to adapt it for another organisational unit.
You can choose between
Duplicate
Creates a 1:1 copy of the activity including all organisational unit(s)
The copying user is the ‘Assigned to’ user
Copy to....
You can set the organisational unit responsible for the newly created activity in advance
The existing Responsible organisational unit and Further organisational unit(s) are removed.
The copying user is the ‘Assigned To’ user

Eldin Expert, responsible for HR, has received information that there is a new processing activity ‘Contract management for trainees’. Due to the fact that in some cases they may be minors, he wants to create a new processing activity.
To save time, he makes a 1:1 copy based on the processing activity ‘Contract management for employees’ and simply changes the corresponding data, such as person group.
